Bleacher Report: 2017 NFL Draft May Be Potentially Historic For Running Backs

An Early Look at Potentially Historic RB Class in 2017

We are all hoping that somehow that our current personnel or later additions thereto can provide us a working running game this year. However, if we do need some help next year, Bleacher Report is reporting that next year's draft is potentially "historic" for the running back position. If so, let's hope that we can wait that long and not suffer through another poor running game this year like we did in 2015.

Also, if the 2017 RB crop is "historic," it makes you wonder why the Cowboys decided to take Zeke, who clearly is a luxury pick anyways, rather than someone like Jalen Ramsey or why they didn't trade down. Their current running game is pretty decent and they could've gotten someone else in the draft to fortify their running game more than well enough behind that offensive line.

Barring injury the three legit first rounder's are Cook, Mcaffery and Foruante. Chubb and the NC kid are probably 2nd rounders. I agree this will be a great RB class. It sets up nicely for us. If Jones stays healthy he should have a huge year for us. First, b/c he is a three down back. Should be a fantasy stud. 2nd, as of right now there is no competition to take carries away. 3rd, he will be the goaline back and should have double digit TD's. 4th, With the talent at WR and TE there should not be any 8 man boxes for Jones.

I think Jones is going to be a steal in fantasy. He is not even ranked in the top 20 for Rb's in a standard league or PPR right now. I think that is crazy. He should be a stud this year for the reasons that I just mentioned. Im thinking a 3rd round pick in a 12 team league.
