Your welcome - It was probably the best thing about Mr. Barnett.

Haha - I would have bet that he was the future of Bama, but Jalen just shocked everyone with how well he has played in practice and games, plus the players just respond to him.

I'd like to see him come to the Pac-12, and Cal, USC, UCLA will all be needing a QB next year or the year after.

I'm down with the Jalen to Tua progression, I like teams having to plan around our qb for a change.

And as awkward as Coker was last year, he NUMEROUS times rushed for big gains during tense moments, something I doubt any team ever planned for.

But I agree, I enjoy have a QB that has the ability to run if need be. Just that deep ball needs to get better.

It's not like Coker wasn't a master of the poorly thrown deep ball...

I would say Oregon will be going after him, but they seem to only like the older ones. Barnett has too many years of eligibility left. :dhd:

Yes it's mind blowing. You just don't transfer mid season.

Won't be surprised if he is mad because he isn't starting and then realizes he is making a mistake, comes back the next day etc. Transfer at the end of the year like normal.

Possible he just isn't excelling in the classroom. Might be a little football and too much fun away from home. Pure speculation, but that would explain a mid-season

Not sure, but he comes off as a smart guy.

I think he is mad at Kiffin and is basically rage quitting.

I disagree. Its a business decision.

The whole thing is a bad sign for him, though. Not many places you are going to go where you can get the high level of publicity and coaching and surrounding talent but the caveat to that is that you actually have to be good in the first place.

If it's the end of the season, then transferring would have been all but expected for a kid of his talent.

Mid season is a whole other ball game.

I wasn't saying he isn't smart. He wouldn't be the first smart kid to get caught up in fraternity row in semester 1

I think he'll be going to the Pac12 since he's from Cali and his girl is there. I'm betting his #1 choice will be USC/UCLA/Cal.

Maybe even a school like Hawaii if he's wanting to be near his girl with good surfing etc.

He's got the talent, but better find some heart.

So I'm with @4down20, and I've heard he's a smart guy. But a couple things to take into consideration...none of which is Blake's fault.

He was the #1 passer in his class, so you know he's been given anything he has wanted. He's not used to being a backup. Not to mention that while he visited Tuscaloosa, living there (as I did for 4 years), is very different. It's not California. He could also be a bit home sick.

I'm shocked how many 5 stars we get at Bama, particularly in positions where we are already loaded with 5 star talent. I'm surprised more don't transfer to be honest.

A PREFECT example is Reuben Foster. Highly talented LB, but had to wait years to become the primary Back. He would have started at Auburn (where he originally committed), his freshman year, instead he comes to Bama and plays on the kick off coverage his freshman year. Now, in his senior year, he is excelling as our #1 LB, and he will get himself drafted highly and make NFL money. So here you have a guy that's dumb enough to not only commit to the barners (kidding...kind of), but get a tattoo of them on his arm, yet he comes to T-town, and waits until his 4th year to be our #1 LB. I don't get it, but it's probably the best thing he could have done for his career.

Sorry for the tangent, the wine is hitting me at the moment, and I haven't been as impressed with an Alabama player determination at Foster since probably Sims two years ago.

Saban is losing control of the team...

Not really but that's what they say about Sumlin every time we have a QB transfer

I don't honestly understand why a 5 star QB signs with Bama. 5 star anything else I totally get but when was the last time Saban and Bama developed an elite QB? Plus their system isn't really a QB friendly one. Seems like a lot of better options for a QB. That may be the only position in the field where guys could do a lot better service to themselves by going somewhere else lol
