If true, I guess I know why he never won the starting job. Too full of himself.

Who the fuck leaves in the middle of the season?

Yeah - of course this being sources, he could have just told someone that he 'plans' to, and it went from there.

Truth be told, while he has this magical arm, he looks confused and like a deer in headlights when actually in the game. Against everyone so far, Jalen has clearly won the starting role, and once Jalen learns to throw the deep ball a half a second quicker, he'll be a monster.

Good luck to him, but the best thing about him was his hawt finacee.

I figured he would transfer at the end of the year. True Freshman gets the nod and he is obviously very talented. A little playing time and he'd settle in eventually IMO. I think he will do pretty well wherever he goes.

But transferring in the middle of the season and leaving your team behind is not a good look. It basically shows exactly the reason he wasn't the starter, because it wasn't a lack of talent.

Hell Ohio St won the playoffs just 2 years ago with the 3rd string. What the fuck is he thinking?

I hope it was just plans to for his sake, but it says he left the program.

What if, God forbide, Hurts got injured or suspended or whatever. He would be in line to start and if he plays good enough during that stretch possibly earn the starting job. He sounds like a quitter honestly.

I don't disagree - I wish him the best, but I'm sure he's likely heading home, closer to his lady. USC maybe?

Happens often - though this is the second QB I can think of, first being Philip Sims.

Alvin Kamara at UT came to Bama for a yea.

Yes it's mind blowing. You just don't transfer mid season.

Won't be surprised if he is mad because he isn't starting and then realizes he is making a mistake, comes back the next day etc. Transfer at the end of the year like normal.

Alabama would then relay on a 4/5 star qb frm Norman, OK.

Not surprising since he lost the job to Hurts but I really thought he would wait until the end of the season. Lots of talent for sure but I would've waited till the end of the season. Get a little more experience from Saban and Kiffin, maybe get a ring and then take what you've learned here and go somewhere else.

Oh well, good luck to him.

He will get dumped in no time once she gets a little smarter and figures out he won't be headed to the NFL

It's kind of dumb to leave in the middle of the season, but barring an injury to Hurts, Barnett is doomed to be a back-up for at least the next three years if he stays at Alabama.

Makes sense.

Being a backup isn't good for your NFL stock

I'm down with the Jalen to Tua progression, I like teams having to plan around our qb for a change.
