Now I am not trying to rehash the past and all that but something was said earlier this week in another thread about the pay increase for the coaches by "Huskers 1 2010" that I had to look at and check on. "Huskers 1 2010" said, "let me start by saying I am very happy BO is here, but he still hasn't done anything Callahan hasn't done". Well there are quite a few things Bo has done in his 2 short years that Billy C couldn't do.

Bo has had a 6 game winning streak.

Billy C went 3-10 against ranked teams in 4 years. Bo is 3-5 in 2.

Billy C went 1-17 in games where they were losing at halftime. Bo is 3-7.

Billy C went 8-14 in road games. Bo is 8-4.

Billy C went 2-2 in games where they were tied at the half. Bo is 3-0.

Billy C went to one Big 12 title game and looked horrible. Bo has gone to one and looked good.

Billy C went 1-1 in bowl games. Bo is 2-0.


Here are a few other numbers that you can't really get a gauge on until after a couple more years with Bo.

Billy C went 24-3 in games where they were winning at the half. Bo is currently 13-1.

Billy C went 19-8 in home games. Bo is 11-4.

Billy C went 12-4 in non conference games. Bo is 8-2.

Billy C went 15-18 in conference games. Bo is 11-6.


This wasn't meant to bash "Huskers 1 2010". Just wanted to shed some light on some numbers I had.

I know that there are other intangible things but with comparing coaches it is all about records.

I'm just happy that in two short years Bo and Company have been able to restore the defence with almost the same players that Callahan had. Great teams start with defence now lets see if these coaches have what it takes to put together a good offence too.

And then there is the Complete turn around of the D, from one of the worst to one of the very best. Being able to keep a top D player (Suh) and developing that player into the best player on D for two years running. The former crew had the whole D lost and didn't know what to do. Bo make on the spot changes, half time changes and wins with walkons on D.
