Reasons:

- I think power rankings have to at least factor in the most recent results. The last time we saw Wisconsin and Ohio State, they were competing well in BCS games. Both teams return a lot of talent, so I had to put them at numbers one and two.

- Nebraska returns a lot of talent as well, but I can't put them higher than 3 when their last game was a loss to Washington and they clearly weren't as good as OSU or Wisconsin last year.

- Even with the embarassing losses, MSU returns enough talent to put them ahead of the other teams.

- 5-7 were the toughest calls. Iowa was the best of the bunch last year, but not by that much. With their losses, I couldn't put them above Penn State or Michigan, even with their track record of overachieving when doubted. I put Michigan over Penn State because I really think they addressed their biggest weakness (Greg Robinson).

- The last three teams all suck. I ranked them the way I did based on my confidence in their coaches.

From what I've seen so far in our first game, Nebraska may not be better than 6th or 7th.
