If the Bengals do decide to move on from Jenkins, there are only 1 or 2 other guys that would be actual upgrades. At that point, I would think they will heavily pivot to IOL in rounds 2 and 3 to find potential starters.

I'm also not going to count out a long look at Lee. He may not be IOL as far as guard goes...but, he might be an option. Bengals, for better or worse, also will likely give Ford a look at IOL as well.

FWIW - From X: Teven Jenkins wasn't listed on the Seahawks' official visit report which each Club must file with the League office for offical visits. 2021 2nd round pick Dillon Radunz now has a planned visit with them, but there has been no news on Jenkins since late last week (though perhaps his visit is today).

There seems to be something off about Jenkins. This reminds me a lot of the situation with L'ael Collins - There is a reason why teams are skeptical of him and I don't think it has to do with cost. I don't know much about him, but my skepticism is growing. At this point, I'd be happy if they signed Scherf and Risner. Just run out a few older guys and draft some young dudes to learn or compete for starting time. At least with the veterans we could establish a higher floor - which, admittedly, should not be difficult given the guard play from last year.

Agreed. It's an odd situation.

If he's going to be here, it'll likely be a 1 year deal, or a 2 year deal with no dead money in year 2 - so basically 1 year and a team option...and on a light contract.

Browns are signing Teven Jenkins per Jordan Schultz.

Cross him off the list.
The more I've read, the more I think the Bengals dodged a bullet.

Dude has played in like 38 games in 4 years...that's basically 2 full years out of 4....50%...and he's left numerous other games early...if you added in all the games he's left early - I'm willing to bet that 50% drops to like 35%...

They, hopefully, go get Scherrf and go high round IOL in the draft.

I don't mind Lucas Patrick, but only if they are also adding Scherrf. I'd prefer at least one sure starer, then an open competition with a couple of vets and maybe a 2nd or 3rd round rookie.

I was all for Jenkins until my coworker brought similar details up about him. He is a Bears fan. That would have been a signing where Bengals fans rejoiced and then crashed down upon management the first time he got hurt and missed work. "How did we not know this about him when we signed him? Classic Bengals" That would have been the theme.

Also if he was good and the Bears made a point to invest big bucks and trade draft capital for IOL, why wouldn't they just keep him?

Yep. Same.

At this point, give me Scherff, trade down in round 1, grab the kid from Texas...go into the next 3 picks with eyes on: DE/DT/LB/S as targets with the 2nd, 3rd, and extra 3rd round picks.

I'm in a new camp now. I would like to see us grab Emmanwori. I think a decent OT conversion to guard, or guard can be had in round 2. I love Emmanwori's size, speed, and production. We need a Troy Polamalu, Ed Reed or even a new Jesse Bates on this team to QB that secondary.

Bengals sign Patrick. 1 year deal. Still want Scherff and still need a draft pick. He's fine, but he's more backup that starter level guy that would be better than what the Bengals have had over the past few years. Got to get better. Just have to.

We will see, Bengals don't seem to value guards, which is crazy with a 275 million dollar QB who is the savior of your franchise. I really think the contract I came up with for Trey would be sufficient for both him and the Bengals. I would really like to know what both sides are saying and how far off I am one way or the other.

Hendrickson asking for too many years, expecting current year to get torn up, $40 million....

Are the Bengals not willing to give much guaranteed, only offering another 1 year extension? Just curious where both sides are at to see how far away the contract negotiation really is.

Patrick is a decent pick up but it’s not enough. Sadly I think the Bengals are done with FA. It’ll be Patrick, Ford, Volson and a top 60 draft pick fighting for 2 guard spots. I just don’t get it. The Bengals continue to go cheap and their interior OL continues to kill them.
