I can list five factors:

1. 6 arenas still have hard glass, 2 still have those dangerous partitions.
2. Hockey is played at a super fast pace.
3. Shoulder and elbow pads are too hard.
4. Players don't wear their helmets properly/helmet technology is not up to snuff.
5. Hits to the head.

So I suppose he's kind of right...

These are the biggest, IMO.

There should be WAY more discussion centered around #3.
