I think he was implying the opposite. I'm not so sure however. I think Selig may be the worse commissionner. I also have a feeling that Bettman would make a better MLB commissioner than he does an NHL one, or at least he would command more respect/credibility than he currently does. From what I read its not going to happen though.

1. Two work stoppages (one losing an entire season of hockey)
2. No tv deal of any real substance in the States
3. Too much expansion with no real plans in the 90s
4. Lack of oversight regarding discipline/suspensions
5. Introduction of the shootout/3 point games

He is a non-hockey guy who studied Labor relations in school and has been at the helm for two work stoppages.
