Outlaw Josey Wales is a great clint movie…probably his best. Redford in J Johnson is another good one.

Searchers
GBU is the one early Eastwood duster I will always watch. Wallach and Van Cleef are stellar in it as well.
Unforgiven is flat out great. When Munney has a few drinks and loses it, great stuff.
Searchers is very realistic. And visually stunning. Plus Duke is an asshole in it, not his usual.
Loved Jeremiah Johnson but I don't really think of it as a western. I like Open Range more than I thought I might.
And I guess Lonesome Dove is a mini series but it too is great stuff.

I voted for 3 but they are all tied for 2nd. My favorite western of all-time is The Shootist.

Like I said, I too found it really good.
When they have the big shootout, it is very real. Costner blasting Kim Coates was beautiful. Just pulled the gun and right between the eyes....
And I have to say, while not technically a Western, I loved Quigley Down Under. The rifle sound effects were great.
