Big fan, but he is like Jackie martling in that most of his material is not his... they Just tell Jokes... Gilbert tells all dirty jokes, old and new, but the majority of them are Jokes that we can all look up on the internet... Gilbert is famous because of his voice more than his jokes... A lot like sam kenison, who is famous because of that scream more than his material...

But with that said whenever i hear gilbert doing his standup i cant stop laughing...

I like just about all comedians and he is no exception.

But this is about the "Best of all time".

If I made a list of comedians I enjoyed, shit would go on forever.

Jonathan Winters was just all around funny. He did not need what comedians refer to as "Material". Didnt need to wrtie anything. He just had his way of looking at things that was hilarious. He could also do all phases of comedy.

Also, it is hard to compare different eras too. Guys like George Burns and Jack Benny had to limit their act due to what was deemed acceptable at the time.

I like the one-liner comedians like Henny Youngman and Rodney Dangerfield. Not many successful modern day 1 liners. Steven Wright and Mitch Hedberg were probably closest to that description.
