this is true. He was the perfect example of, just leave him alone and let him play.

Not really. Jefe, if you remember Texas was still a pro style type of offense in '02 and most of '03 since Mock started the '03 season as the starting QB. It wasn't that Mack and Davis left VY alone and let him do whatever he wanted to; that never made sense in the 1st place. What happened was Greg Davis changing the offense entirely and making it a permanent spread offense which allowed VY to do more zone read, which was what fit his style of play perfectly. That offense from '04-05 was the best and most dominating offense the BCS era has ever seen.

I freaking LOVE that game, and the year before, and the year after.......

OSU going up on us by double digits, only to get DESTROYED in the second half. T Boone thinking they were FINALLY going to win only to get trounced......be up nearly 3 TDs and still get beat by 30.....man those games were EPIC. That run just opened the flood gates.

yes, I agree somewhat. But they did take the controlling reins off him a bit, and they modified the offense to suit his skills, rather than force him to be something he wasn't.

Man I sure did love watching him play.

Once in a lifetime player, bud. I'll tell you what though, Jerrod Heard is legit as well. Sure wish he would have enrolled in the spring.
