Can't believe i'm gonna do this but in defense of Aikman if he didn't have Emmitt running it in everytime they got inside the 10 his TD's and Rating would be much higher.

The only years where he went over 60% completion were the years where he dumped it off to Emmitt 50 times and had a prime Irvin. When his weapons weren't there to bail him out, he fizzled. To be fair, my memories of Aikman tend to be towards the end of his career, but he never struck me as accurate.

If I had to have a QB absolutely, positively make a crucial pass into a tight window, I'd take Troy Aikman all damn day. I just chuckle at the classic tactic of criticizing a QB by saying he had weapons.

Aikman should of been better than a surgeon.... He had year in and year out 4 to 5 o-line guys going to the pro bowl. I don't wanna down play anything that Troy did, but the team he played on was just that a damn good team!!! His supporting cast was great, and it made him look better than he really was.

Did you watch Aikman play? He may very well be overrated on account of his team wining, winning and winning s'more. But don't throw him in with those two "winners". Aikman made smart decisions, and put his team in position to win. Favre just chucked shit around all willy nilly. (Slap Brady in that trinity and I thumb up the post.)

Elway pretty much single handedly led the Broncos to three super bowls at a very young age and had zero weapons.

He did it with mind boggling drives over and over again.
