Of course, there is TNG and DS9 (as well as the rest of the universe, but those two, in particular, were REALLY good)

Better Call Saul (Breaking Bad)

I know I'm very likely in the minority on this but Better Call Saul was better than Breaking Bad and that's saying something.

A Gilligans Island spinoff would've been great.

BCS and BB are both absolute genius. It is really hard to call one better than the other.

I think I may have to give BB the edge almost entirely thanks to Dead Freight, which is quite possibly the greatest episode of a dramatic show ever.

Jeffersons is usually considered the best spin-off ever, at least among the older generations. I'm guessing Better Call Saul is the new #1.

George, one of my all time favorite sit com characters.

At it's best BB was better but they dragged it on a little too long which was not the case with BCS. Sometimes when a show is really popular the write "filler" episodes to keep it around longer. They did that with the Sopranos originally was only supposed to be 3 or 4 seasons.

What are the best spin-offs ever? What are the most successful? For the purposes of this thread, let’s focus of TV shows. We can talk about movies later if there is interest.

Mork & Mindy (Happy Days)
Laverne & Shirley (Happy Days)
NCIS (JAG)
NCIS universe (New Orleans, Red, LA, Sydney, Hawaii, shared universe with 5-O and McGyver))
Chicago universe (Fire, PD, Med, Justice)
Law and Order universe (shared universe with Chicago, SVU, London, etc)
Diagnosis Murder (Jake and the Fat Man)
Frasier (Cheers)
Better Call Saul (Breaking Bad)

What am I missing?

I did not know ncis came out of jag

George, one of my all time favorite sit com characters.

They didn’t even break George out of the box on All in the Family for almost a year. His brother Henry had to carry the load. George didn’t want to break bread with Whitey. And Henry did a great job of being a foil for Archie.

Didn't watch much All in the Family. I liked the Jefferson's and Sanford & Son.
