Is Babcock REALLY worth a wheelbarrow full of cash and a 3rd round pick? It's been several years since he got past the 2nd round of the playoffs.

As long as it's not my cash I couldn't care less about it :). (and it's not cap space)

The 3rd round pick to me is worth it. I think Babcock is a difference maker behind the bench, the chance of drafting/trading for a difference maker with a 3rd round pick is probably pretty small.

The boatload of cash im not concerned with but taking a third round pick is the problem. There are a lot of coaches out there who's former teams didn't get anything when the coaches signed with a new team why do we have to give up a pick to get Babcock.

Because he is technically under contract until June 30. Sign before then, which any team will because of the draft, and forfeit the pick.

We have two third round picks this year and have three drafts to choose when we forfeit the pick. Babcock is worth it. Would you trade Tye McGinn for Mike Babcock?

Btw, assuming both McClellan and Babcock are off the board.. Who is your pick? Bring up Murray? Disco Dan?

Wasn't Lavi still under contract with us when he signed with the Preds? If so I don't remember receiving a draft pick from them.

I guess id like Disco Dan because he plays the high flying offense that we are probably best suited for.

Lavy was fired. That's the difference.

Just a couple of days till Babcock makes his decision. My money is on he stays put in Detroit. I do like the fact that Hextall is taking his time and keeping things quiet.
