After publicly campaigning to play a Monday night game in Baltimore, Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti will finally get his wish.

WNST.net has learned the Ravens will open the season by welcoming the AFC North rival Cincinnati Bengals to town in a nationally-televised game on Monday, Sept. 10. It will be the first Monday night game played in Baltimore since the Ravens played the Patriots on Dec. 3, 2007, a game in which New England won in the closing seconds to remain undefeated.

Stay with WNST.net throughout the evening, follow WNST on Twitter, and be sure you’re subscribed to the WNST Text Service to have the entire schedule sent to your mobile device as the NFL officially announces the 2012 schedule at 7:00 p.m

Nice to open the season on national TV. Bengals and Ravens always play tough close games (at least over the past few years they have). Should be a great early season matchup.

It does suck that the Bengals have to face the best QB in the NFL out of the gate, but the Bengals have always been able to keep JF in check for the most part. It's Rice that gets loose and hurts the Bengals D.

I really love our division. Great rivalries, good smash mouth defensive football, and all the teams seem to really be making a transition to a more "conservative" vertical game. Not just ground and pound anymore, but a more well balanced offensive game plan from each team.

Anytime you can play one of your rivals, it is going to be a fun game, and it just adds to the excitement when it is the season opener on Monday Night football. Hope everyone has cable.
