The OL was trash and the running game was non-existant.
Got to remember, though, that JETS defense is stout. They gave up all of 4 rushing TD's last year, and they were sending all kinds of pressure.

Thats all true. I think the Jets are better than people think.

But aren't we supposed to have a pretty good OL, Bodine not withstanding?

Good win. The Jets have a good, veteran team. They have flaws, but I think they'll have a good season.

As others have said, the offensive line sucked..... I didn't think the tackles were bad. I think Ced played okay. But good lord Bodine sucks. He was better in his first games as a rookie. For a guy that was drafted due to his strength, he gets pushed over like a tackling dummy. I understand that the Jets have a very good DL, but that was awful. I can also understand why the Bengals don't want to pay Zeitler top guard money. He's good, but certainly not dominant, and our interior line didn't contribute much to the offense. If the Jets defense wasn't slow, we would have been screwed today..... They only thing that really worked was plays to the outside where our speed really showed.

Lafell will get better over time. He had some good moments and I think as Dalton gets more comfortable with him he'll do more. Boyd was quiet. He is a rookie. Gio wasn't involved as much as I thought he would be. AJ is a beast.

Kirkpatrick is awful at times and pretty good at others. Shaw is going to be a good football player. And I think Lewis-Harris is underrated.

The linebackers are awful. Vinny Rey didn't have a good day. Dansby wasn't nearly as good as I thought he would be and I'm not sure I even saw Rey M. Burfict can't get back soon enough.

Coverage teams are suspect. Losing Peerman was tough. Hopefully they get better as the season goes on.

I think the tackles were okay.... Bodine reached a new level of terrible today. Can't wait to see the PFF grade on him.

Good assessment. Pretty much agree on every point.

Shout out to Margus Hunt today. Batted a couple passes and made some plays.

I think it's time to start giving Andy Dalton some respect around here. 3 years ago, there's no way he hangs in there after taking 7 sacks and getting pulverized and puts up 350 yards against a good defense on the road. Having AJ Green certainly helps. But Andy has come a long way. Good for him.

Bodine is freakin garbage. Good grief. It can't be that hard to find a damn center. It just can't be.

Our OL coach has been great. He's been way right on guys more often than he's been wrong, but I just don't know what he sees in Bodine. He's clearly over-matched, and rarely rates out well. I think ratings on OL are a lot easier to grade than on defense where guys may have a specific job that doesn't always look like it's a part of the play. But, offensively, it's pretty easy to gauge what an OL should be doing on nearly every play. The fact that he rates out as one of the worst centers, and yet Anderson still defends him doesn't make a lot of sense.
