I think it's a good move. I like when they sign guys a year before they come up for FA..... Keeps the core together and it sends a good message to the younger guys that haven't got paid yet.
It's hard to say how good he'll be in a full-time role, but his deal certainly doesn't break the bank and he's definitely always had the potential.
