and "simulating the count" was a bullshit call that probably cost us the game. that needs to be investigated. everyone does that.

Um, no, not really. Happens very rarely because the players usually know better than to do it

I seem to remember the last time it happened to us someone said, "listen dumba##es, football players do it all the time and if you ever played football your weak a**es would know that. ha ah ah hahah ahahah lolol." or some troll shit like that. I never played sports until after HS so I guess I took the trolls word for it. never believe a steeler fan I guess.

I think with all the late game activity, it's easy to lose sight of why we lost..... What the fuck was it that we were doing in the 3rd quarter? It's really strange that on a team with two good running backs, a veteran line, a veteran quarterback and well-above average receivers/tight end that we can go three and out so easily. Our defense was reeling and they just needed a break.

Couple of other notes:

1) Whit got beat like a drum on one play. Haven't seen that in a while.

2) AJ can't beat the best corners. If we would have won last night, it would have had a lot to do with Peterson's late injury.

3) I'm okay with Dalton's throw to AJ on third and 2. They were blitzing to stop the run to Gio. Had we handed it to him he would have been stopped. If Dalton doesn't throw the damn ball short and too far outside, Green would have had a chance and we would have won the game.

I think the game showed that we were on even footing one of the top 3 teams in the NFC

but if we want to unseat NE as #1 seed we need to get better quick, not worse.

just be happy with 1 playoff win. baby steps.

No doubt..... We are definitely as good as any team in the NFC. And with the exception of New England, I like our chances against all the other AFC teams.

That said, we'd probably lose if we played Houston. Because we always lose to Houston. It just doesn't make any sense.

we should beat them next time around. we gambled too much in that game. that, and we have a slightly better chance of minimizing the jjwatt effect with Smith in.

Even the announcers said it is something the defense can get away with except for the last two minutes of each half when the ref moves behind the D line. So I'm guessing it happens quite a bit...Peko was just too dumb to realize the ref was standing right behind him at the time.

It's pretty amazing that for a team that supposedly has one of the best offensive lines in the game, the Bengals sure are susceptible to the blitz.

Apparently Peko was doing that all game and the Cards told the refs to watch out for it. On the road vs a good team in an out of conference game.. All losses suck, but that one at least has no tie breaker implications for the postseason.. Next week is huge though.. They can't lose 3 in a row.

I chalk it up to a bad outing. Hell, the Cardinals might very well be the NFC representative in the SB, and you guys stuck with them until the end. Bengals are gonna be fine, I see nothing less than a 2 seed for them

That's what scares me.... This game should be a laugher. The Rams season is heading south - They've got coaches calling out their coach, they had a qb change, a concussion controversy and now the defense is getting ready to quit because their offense is so bad.

The Rams can run control the clock running the football and play great defense when they're healthy. The Bengals should be a strong favorite and they should win the game. But I don't see it as an easy win

Gurly is going to destroy this defense. I still think the Bengals should win, but I see it being like the KC game. The Rams will move the ball but be held to FGs unless Gurly breaks one...or five.

I think our run defense will be fine. With Burfict and Maualuga healthy I think we can easily make it tough on a one dimensional running team. I think the teams that will have the most success on us are those that can hit a bunch of underneath stuff or play action type plays..... Mostly because I think our linebackers are good run defenders and lousy in coverage. I have no data to back this up.

as long as the Bengals don't underestimate the Rams potential then we should have nothing to worry about. The ravens are horrible this year and they narrowly lost to the Ravens Sunday. If we can't beat the Rams at home then we can stop worrying about winning any playoff game.
