Weird coming from the team that made the finals with Eric snow
Eric Snow is a thousand times a better shooter then ben simmons.

Not exaggerating.

A lot goes into to being a good shooter.

Practice, as you point out, is absolutely essential. And it is fair to question how hard Simmons has worked on his game.

But, there is a lot more to it. Or else everybody who worked hard would shoot like Steph. And there are players like Giannis who do work hard and still can’t shoot very well.

Some people have better fine motor control and acquire skills more quickly and at a higher level.

Also, as @trojanfan12 has pointed out, Simmons shoots with his left hand despite being right handed. That probably plays a part too.

And then finally, there is confidence, which Simmons clearly seems to struggle with.

The left right thing is one of the most bizarre things in all of basketball

That’s not saying much honestly. Snow was awful. Simmons is afraid to shoot past 10 feet. Neither can shoot.

The question now is where can ben go.

Have to consider he won't be on a team that already has a super max player, so take them out of play

The best places IMO

Indiana (need someone who can play the 4, having a true PG type would free up their guards who can shoot, even more....did I mention how badly they need a 4?)

San Antonio (Brown got the most out of him and he's there, they turn bad shooters into good ones, but they have Tre Jones. So not ideal, but a good buy low when it wouldn't cost them much of anything to make it happen...probably can dump Graham on Brooklyn)

Houston (a team who badly needs a guy who wants to pass and not dribble around and chuck up bad shots, but is it the right environment for him and the rest of the team?)

Orlando (a bigger, better version of fultz, in theory, and you know how they love guys with his size and defensive ability)

clippers (because fuck it, why not? They should be that desperate at this point and having a real ball handler/distributor and defender like simmons could make them really good....or could be a disaster)

The best place for this loser is hanging from William Penn's hat

The Clippers could be interesting. They'd be getting a guy with the skills to set up Kawhi and PG, but won't take shots away from them..

The only problem would be that the opposing defense could still play 5 on 4, just for the opposite reason they do with Russ.

They'd have to figure out something in half court sets. But at least Simmons wouldn't be hurting them by missing a bunch of shots.

Or at least trade for floor spacing 5s to make it easier

True. With a decent stretch 5, Simmons could get Kawhi or PG set up, then move inside to play some inside out with the shooters and get offensive rebounds.

Is Ben Simmons even worth that kind of emphasis in building your team these days? To what end? 8/6/6 and no role in the playoffs?

RW is making 53% of his FGA's with the Clipps.
