That is a lie.

The overwhelming Philly fan reaction as soon as the playoffs ended was “trade him. Trade him for anyone. Get him out of here”.

That is when Simmons started acting out. After 6er fans expressed that he wasn’t wanted.

Yup.

Their demand for return has Increased by him wanting out lol

And as has been said countless times,

That is all well and good. But do it behind closed doors. Not through the media.
I guess they will run their team how they want. Maybe they thought they could scare him straight. There is no telling how much closed doors crap has gone on with this guy though.

They sure will.

And now they are facing the consequences of their actions.

Those consequences being a player who hates being on the roster so much because of the personal way this situation has played out that he go to extreme lengths to avoid taking the court for them.

Maybe it’s time the league made an example of someone.

As long as he’s going to therapy and actually among an effort they can’t touch him

So stop with this bullshit

If he’s proven to be faking that’s a different story.

But All evidence is he’s actually doing it right now

Really sad the abomination that is the Houston Texans handled the Watson situation 10000x better than the sixers handled Simmons

Totally different situation, Watson has no issues on the field. Plus no player pushes the league around. Lot easier to just pay him when he is still on the last year of the rookie deal. Really all they could do was let it die down, no brainer.

What?

He said he was never playing for the Texans again.

And he too signed a massive extension

Yes he did, but this is the last year of his rookie contract, though he did get some signing bonus money. In terms of him requesting a trade, that situation died completely when all the bs on him came out. Made it really easy to just let him sit a year, they will move him but he certainly hurt his trade value some. He is unquestionably a top QB with literally no on the field issues, apples and oranges. He would not have pushed the texans around though, he would not have gotten paid if he didn’t play. As stupid as the Texans have been they get what they get.

They are still paying him despite all this.

Well yeah, easy decision he already had his bonus money and was only due 10 mil. He is untradeable til things die down.

He showed up but is refusing to play

Sound familiar?

But the Texans are still paying him

They also didn’t pull any bad faith bs about trading him. They told him flat out no last offseason.

And now national news doesn’t even talk about that situation from a football standpoint

So they did what I said the sixers should’ve done…and it’s been mostly fine (they can’t control what Watson does off the field)

Hmmmm…

Except it’s not. Becuase it started out just like Simmons before the legal stuff came in.

And either way. He’s there but refusing to play

Watson’s situation is a lot worse actually.

Because he has major issues off the field and probably will face a lengthy suspension once he is traded.

You keep coming back to Simmons’ on court issues.

Is his value a bit down because of his playoff performance? Yes. But no basketball person in the world is going to overlook the value he brought over the first 6 years of his career over a few bad playoff games.

The potential character issues and willingness to play that have been brought to the forefront are what will prevent any team from making the kind of offer Philly is holding out for.

And those issues were brought to light because of Philly’s handling of the situations.

DeSean Watson should be a far worse situation. The fact that anyone thinks Simmons’ is on the level speaks to how horribly the 6ers have botched this.

My position on Simmons can be clearly summarized by 2 points:

1: everything the 6er organization and fans have done in reaction to Ben Simmons play and subsequent antics have further escalated tensions. They ALWAYS had to trade him this season. Now they are making it much harder to do.

2: You do not know what is going on in someone else’s head.

Agreed with both but with the context leading up to this it is extremely hard to believe him. And yes they should've traded him at the draft.

I'm trying to remember the NFL player who recently just said he contemplated suicide. That is completely and totally believable. Popped up out of nowhere. And it took real courage for him to share it.

I think the Pistons would do Grant but sounds like Philly also wants Bey. I think Philly would get the deal if they asked for Hayes instead.

I like Grant as a player but I dont think he’s a fit with what they do. I don’t really like any of the Pistons assets as a fit with Philly outside of Bey. But even there, I don’t think the matching salary takes with a Bey deal provide much value for the Sixers. Just my opinion.
