So trade him or John wall/al horford him

Why should they just dump him? That makes zero sense.

Ben Simmons wants to get paid 30 million dollars to play Xbox. The Sixers aren't willing to do that.

If Simmons had just manned up and showed up, he would probably be on a different team already. But that is obviously not a priority for him.

Are you even a real basketball player if you don’t give a fuck that basketball has been taken away from you?

He doesn’t want to play for Philly again

I swear none of you read anything about this situation

Whether he doesn't want to play again, or doesn't want to play for the Sixers again, really doesn't matter because he has 4 years left on his contract. Bottom line is...he's trying to get paid to not play basketball.

You are right, we don't know for certain whether the mental issues he's claiming to have are real or not...but considering how he has conducted himself throughout all of this...it is certainly understandable for folks to be highly skeptical. Especially Sixers fans.

You have no idea what they are willing to accept. You focus on the rumor that they wanted a king's ransom while ignoring that the Wolves said they wouldn't even include D'Angelo Russell and the Kings said they wouldn't include any of their young players and would only offer up a draft bust in return. It's all posturing.

What they AREN'T going to do is just dump an asset simply because he is being petulant. That doesn't make any sense.

Ben Simmons isn't worth an all-star and numerous 1st round picks. But he is worth quite a bit still. And if the Kings go on a losing streak right and are starting at 7-15, they may decide it is time to shake things up. Same with the Wolves although they would likely need a 3rd team to get involved.

Rich Paul saying that the fines are what is causing the mental anguish that is preventing him from coming back to the team is remarkable in its chutzpah.

He told them about this in august

I agree the timing doesn’t look good.

But he is seeing someone and the doctor and team doctor are sharing info
The team hasn't heard from Ben in a couple of weeks which is why he is being fined again.

Rich Paul trying to do damage control now that the fines are flowing again.

lol

Dude doesn't even want to do the minimum of the minimum to get paid.

Show up to a therapists office once a week. Tell them that Doc and Embiid saying what they did after "that game" brought back repressed memories of being molested by a kangaroo when he was a kid in Australia and send an e-mail to someone in the Sixers organization that he saw his doctor that day.

How difficult is that?

Yeah I get that certainly. But it just shows how brazen they are being about all of this.

And I think that they are giving the Sixers no choice but to play hard ball. Simmons' actions are tanking his value. Morey has no choice but to put the hammer down and make it clear that he won't get paid for this season and he won't be traded until the value meets what they expect.

Simmons could have avoided all of this but he choose to act like a hurt child. Now he's doubling down and not realize the damage he is doing to himself.

Philly could’ve done this but they’ve also acted either in bad faith or like children

This really wasn’t hard for Philly

- have doc and embiid apologize
- tell Ben they’re not trading him, or actually try to trade him in good faith (They didn’t)
- have doc not antagonize him in the meeting
- stop changing the rules and moving the goal posts

Like this really wasn’t hard for them

This is a colossal failure and massive mismanagement by them

It really isn't difficult at all. Which is why I think he's actually trying to thumb his nose at the Sixers as well.

When it’s a toxic work environment issue, do you really want team employees involved?

Hint: No.

And the doctors are taking

So it’s clear that convos occurred

So again, goal posts continue to get moved

It is just absurd to suggest that Embiid needed to apologize to Simmons because he pointed out that Simmons screwed up. Embiid has been a vocal defender of Ben Simmons since the day he arrived in Philly. That he made one sideways comments about Simmons after an emotional loss and then also said that others failed to including himself is nowhere near a justifiable reason for Simmons to pout for 6 months.

You keep acting like you know what trade offers the Sixers got. You don't know.

What rules have they changed?

I'm certainly fine with saying that the Sixers could gone various things better. But this is 90% on Simmons being petulant and unwilling to take accountability. When was the last time Simmons spoke to the media? Has he done so since the Hawks series?

And I hope they continue to hammer the hell out of him. This is all on Simmons and no one else.

What should Embiid and Doc apologize for?

They should come out publicly and apologize that they...

"didn't baby this infantile little baby boy bitch"

...separately to different reporters at the same time.
Embiid drops a baby bottle on the floor and walks away after the interview.
