Key words are regular season. Come playoff time the game becomes more half court and that’s the area where Ben and Jo don’t flush well together.

Well I'm not sure that ANY team can work with Ben in the playoffs unless he fixes his free throw shooting.

That is the beauty of Minnesota, just making the playoffs is all they want

Okc’s 20m in cap space could come into play here

Why? What are you going to use it on right now?
We will see I guess, they aren’t required to use all of it right? The Thunder have what it would take to make a deal happen, but I don’t think presti will do it.

I believe They have to spend 90% of the cap or they just give that extra money to the players on the roster.

But you will miss the chance to add more assets

I would expect Presti to front load some stuff to spend exactly that 90 percent number.

Where is he spending it now?

That’s for this year. Not next summer

When do you want to see OKC try and be good again?
I’m thinking next season, I do expect Presti to pull the trigger on something this season.

Well the cap number is not where you start the season, it’s where you are when the season ends.

Honestly, I think Simmons would be a great move for OKC. Obviously some risk but the Thunder aren't going anywhere next year. Let him run the team.

Obviously you'd have to figure out whether it could work with SGA, assuming he stays with the team.

SGA just signed a new deal so they would be together for at least 4 years.

Fwiw this was not what I meant.

I meant more like eating Eric Gordon from a Houston deal or prince from Minnesota etc

That said, using assets to get Simmons isn’t an awful idea.

They probably have the assets to land Zion and Luka lol

I think that’s overblown. Shaq and Dwight Howard still found ways to impact games despite being horrible foul shooters. Simmons will never be great but for the official first time he really saw hack a Ben he didn’t handle it well and 55% became 35%. I think that’s an anomaly. And the kryptonite to Hack a Ben is him getting down hill more and making 10 trips to the line dictated by the opponent 18-20 trips to the line because people would rather 1 of 2 than him getting an easy two. That game isn’t there when you’re on a team with Embiid.

I think this is a Presti move. He buys Ben Simmons at $.60-70 on the dollar now and he gives him the keys to the kingdom and then watches the asset gain value to $1.40-1.50 of current value when he has a chance to play with no pressure and without a lane being clogged. He’s forced to be the alpha. OKC can build around that piece of improve its value and ship off for something they covet more. I’m too emotional with this shit now. But if I take that out of the equation, I think Presti is the guy with the vision and the balls to make that play.
