right now (for the past 30 years), HNIC is exceptionally Leafs focused.
take that away, and CBC needs a different hook.
can they be relevant revolving around Ottawa, for example? tough call.

only possible saving grace for the viewers is that SNET already has regional splits

i forgot that David Thompson has an ownership interest in the Habs too ... so its allowed as long as rules are adhered to .. but the perception is kinda shady imo

the nhl rule is supposed to be no more than 10% ownership in another team
