Get him off the field MORON and let him heal.

FOXBORO — If yesterday was any indication, wide receiver Danny Amendola won’t be returning to game action anytime soon.
Amendola was present for practice, but he moved through each drill with extreme caution as he continues to nurse a torn groin. In fact, it was surprising to see Amendola on the field at all, given how gingerly he moved through each rep.
Amendola barely could stride over the bags in agility drills for ball carriers, and he limped to the end of the line after each turn. He then jogged through short passing drills and again limped afterward, showing noticeable pain.

A source told the Herald last week that Amendola’s injury could take six weeks to heal. On Sunday, another source said the Patriots and a separate hip specialist do not believe Amendola has a sports hernia that would require surgery. However, another doctor disagreed, so the situation remains up in the air as Amendola and the Pats figure out the best course of action. -

But I did find this very odd myself. They need to be clarifying, heria or no hernia and decide the path forward from there.

I don't agree. If BB does not want a player on the field that person will not be on the field. And I think he sets the tone that you are here to play and that's what I ecpect.

BB is very proactive with the medical staff. He was the first to insist that doctors attend practices to assess the reults of surgeries, physical therapy, etc. so the medical staff could then self asses their own treatment plans.

BB wants to put people on the feild that will help the team win. And he has a better winning record in December then September.

Interesting...

Dr. Thomas Gill, the PATRIOTS TEAM DOCTOR..has had controversies with Boston teams:

Mike Cameron's season-ending surgery Friday was the doctor who performed it.
Cameron elected to have Red Sox team medical director Thomas Gill repair his abdominal tear as well as perform a procedure to alleviate pain in his groin, even though Cameron's agent, Mike Nicotera, had suggested to him that he might want to solicit a second opinion.
Cameron's confidence in Gill stands in marked contrast to some of the criticism received by the Red Sox front office from players and their agents directed toward the team's medical staff,
The Red Sox medical staff(Gill) received further affirmation last weekend when the foot specialist who reviewed Dustin Pedroia's medical records was cited by manager Terry Francona as saying he would have cleared Pedroia to play just as the Sox medical staff had done. Pedroia went on the disabled list two days after returning to the lineup after an absence of seven weeks, leading to questions whether he had been rushed back.

Multiple sources told ESPNBoston.com that Pedroia and his representatives had voiced their concerns to club officials.
"I hope they cleared me [to play] and I should have been cleared,'' Pedroia said Friday, even as he insisted he wouldn't second-guess his treatment. "If they [let me play before I was to cleared], then we're going to have problems.''

In preparing for Fanene's hearing, two sources said that the NFLPA discovered information it believes may show Gill wasn't acting in the best interest of Fanene. The information, according to sources, was an email correspondence with Patriots executives.

Gronkowski breaks one of two bones in his left forearm, the ulna, while blocking on an extra-point attempt. The ulna runs from the elbow to the pinkie finger. Of the two forearm bones, it is the one more vulnerable to injury during blocking plays in football. The fracture requires surgical stabilization, which is performed by team orthopedist Dr. Thomas Gill. The surgery is deemed successful and Gronkowski embarks on a program to maintain physical conditioning, gradually transitioning to rehab as the forearm permits. Expected downtime is somewhere in the neighborhood of four to six weeks, depending on how the bone healing progress.
Gronkowski returns to action in the Patriots' regular-season finale against the Miami Dolphins, exactly six weeks post-injury. He has two catches for 42 yards and a touchdown.
Gronkowski takes a fall(vs Houston) and lands on his left forearm (which is sporting a protective shell wrapped in padding). The fall is not unusual and is not out of the realm of normal for Gronkowski. It is obvious, though, when he gets up from the ground that he is not comfortable and he is removed from the game. It is later reported that Gronkowski has re-fractured his forearm (exactly eight weeks after the original injury) and will require a second surgery to insert new hardware and stabilize the ulna. His season is over.

It appears to me Dr. Thomas Gill is a Boston sports team puppet and is willing to hurry back injured players to keep his position. He cost the team the sevices of Gronkowski in the AFCC IMO.

This is ridiculous. He should be getting treatment or finding out if he needs surgery and getting it done!

Get him healthy! Gronk better not play this week either!

EXACTLY! This doctor sounds like the kind an insurance company will send you to for an "IME", an Independent Medical Examination, in a worker's comp case...somehow both sides get the report they each want to hear.

PAID PUPPETS.

Amendola showed he has the guts to attempt an early comeback but it's shortsighted if he's out for the playoffs...see Gronk. I never heard before that the proper rehab for pulled groins or sports hernias is more running and practice drills.

You are joking......right?

What's the point in making the playoffs if your best players can't be in them? We'll be like Manning......1 & done.

I would not play Gronk this week, it's and NFC opponent I think we are capable of beating with the current group and I think the D can stifle them.

can we go through the whole season without gronk and amendola and make the playoffs? i dunno it would be close. i agree we need gronk for playoffs absolutely, amendola we got edelman so we might be ok. im not a fan of keeping guys out and playing scared, guys could get injured anytime even in practice.

What???
I do not know where this came from, BUT, the ulna DOES NOT run from the elbow to the pinky finger. There are multiple metacarpels and phalanges towards the distal end.

Gronk is fragile. Rushing him back or not, he will be injured again this season. Hopefully he doesnt miss the playoffs this time.
