Why the hell would any ND fan wish to not be in a BCS?

I'd rather get smoked in the Orange Bowl than win the Hawaii Bowl.

Yeah most likely but I don't think Florida State will be playing in the Orange Bowl, most likely the National Title game, so more likely Clemson, Virginia Tech, or Miami.

There's just something about this FSU team that has me feeling they'll cough up at least one win-able game, although this is the best squad they've had in years. That said, I think that stand a pretty good chance of running the table and playing in the BCS game, especially the way they ran out Clemson on their home field.

In any event, we'd be curb stomped in any BCS game this year, the team just hasn't shown the kind of consistency to win at that level. I think if the defense continues to improve, they can get us there, but this team has yet to fire on all cylanders at once to make such a game even competitive. The QB situation really needs to be fixed and the DL shored up due to our expected losses before this team is ready to finally win a BCS level game. Just getting to them really isn't good enough anymore.

Yes it does, but I'd still rather play in a BCS game and lose than some bowl game played before Christmas and win.

I get ya ... but I just wish we'd be a validated, competitive team in a BCS game (to make it somewhat an entertaining nite for Irish fans) instead of the the proverbial blowout/embarassment that we always seem to get into ...

Yeah I agree.
