Blame this winning streak on Rev as he kept creating these new posts with his clever subject lines. Must have been why he was not so quick to create a new one. :)

Glad I'm not the only one that cringes when I see us win a game lately. Come on guys, I love the heart and giving fans something to watch but how about we go on a nice 3 game losing streak to help secure the #1 overall?

Sorry, and I know there is a little evidence on the importance of the # 1 pick. But, let me ask, is there such a clear cut favorite for the # 1 pick that it's a no brainer? In fact, I'm assuming if you lined up 10 GMs and asked who they'd take if they had the top pick - year-in/out - there would be a tremendous differing of opinion.

The Braves just fired their GM and placed the great John Hart in his place.

Yeah he did a nice job.

Sorry if I jumped your territory Rev. But hey, since so many want us to lose, perhaps we needed a new one.

Much more to it according to Rev. He explained why in frame 369 in yesterdays discussion. Makes more sense why people don't to win games at this point. Got to go along.

Lol like I said I forgot all about it. They kept winning when I made em, so by all means, take it over.

I don't think the draft is going to be so deep at the top. Just want whoever they take to have an impact in a few years. Would love a number 1 pitcher...

Like wise. We need a pitcher badly IMO.

There could very well be by the time the draft takes place next year. I would think it would be hard to say one way or another at this point. A lot of times there is a very big difference between the first pick and the third or fourth pick.

Odds are not in our favor tonight with Derek pitching
Thought of that when I noticed who's pitching this series. But the Astros have some young kid with a good ERA pitching as well and they have been playing really well lately. Tore up Seattle. Kinda knocked them out of the WC race.

I approve of the title. I forgot to make a new one. Then again they won 8/9 since I took it over!

We had a little laugh about this earlier.

You're on "way-to-good-a-roll" according to you.

Jim Bowden has a wish list for what he'd like the new commissioner to do and it's pretty interesting. I'll post the main topics and lines.

1. Improve the pace of the game
Reduce the number of warm-up pitches to shorten time between innings.
Institute a pitch clock.
Award intentional walks with a simple signal from the manager. Do not make the pitcher throw four balls.
3. Implement the designated hitter rule for both leagues
5. Reshape some draft rules
Allow trading of picks.
Institute a worldwide draft.
Eliminate the association of free agency with the draft.
8. The All-Star Game should no longer determine World Series home-field advantage
10. Ballpark changes
New parks for Oakland and Tampa Bay
Affordable tickets everywhere.

If you've got Insider, it's worth reading the entire article. And for those who don't and you're interested in something specifically here, let me know and I'll post all pertinent info which isn't here.
