Ruben signed Eric Kratz, 35, to a minor-league deal on Friday and he will report to Triple A Lehigh Valley. Vital backup for Carlos, 36. ![Scratch  ](/images/smilies/icon_scratch.gif)

You are correct Retro. Amaro can't help himself. Kratz is toast. He can't throw out base stealers anymore and his hitting is at the Mendoza line.Dumpster diving again. Braindead can't help himself.
A veteran presence can be helpful. Maybe they can hire him as a catchers coach. If Ruiz is traded they should not use Kratz as a blocker of youth. The Philies could bring up a young catcher to get valuable experience at the big league level. This would be the year to do that!did you clowns ever think (ahaha, of course not!) that vets who still want to play are important depth for the minor leagues to help younger players? the phils currently have a 24 year in moore paired with a 22 year old lino at AAA. and their best offensive catcher in 23 year old knapp is at AA with no real vet help either. older players enjoy the ability to pass on their years of knowledge to younger players who have a shot. and if ruiz is traded, then maybe he comes up as a vet presence to further aid rupp.
facts, never let them get in the way. they'll hurt your brain.
