Basement Battle (Sens vs. Isles) GNT

It was a battle of kid goalies tonight. Poulin is 20. They were saying some of the Sens players said some stuff this morning that might have been bulletin board material but I don't know what was said. I think Kovalev was mentioned as one of the players involved.

I haven't seen Landeskog play. I've read that he's a high character player with really good skills.

The guy I was impressed with at the WJC was Adam Larsson. He played well while being injured. I don't think he's played since the tournament.

The Sens don't deserve to talk smack at this point. I have no idea about what was said but that's just ridiculous if it actually happened. And to talk smack and not back it up with a somewhat decent effort? This losing streak could go on for A LOT longer...

I'm sold on Landeskog for sure. He's just one of those guys that does everything. He probably doesn't have the offensive upside that Nugent Hopkins has but he is a VERY solid player.

Larsson is a really good player. Definitely the best defensemen in this draft and I could see him being a #1 dman for sure.

I have identified the Senators problem.

The guy with the most fire, the most anger, the biggest willingness to mix it up, and the most toughness... is their rookie Swedish goalie.

Jumps in and pulls Andy Mac off the Michalek/Tavares cat fight and then puts the Isles goalie on his ass on the way off the ice.

I like this kid.

A bit of Ron Hextall or Eddie Belfour as well. But this kid is fiery and if he can learn how to harness it then he'll be a good goalie for a long time.

Isles fans over on HF were seriously pissed about Lehner though and I had to have a chuckle. This team NEVER shows any kind of backbone and when they do they get criticized.

It's funny that you mention Patrick Roy. Roy said Poulin was the best goalie in the Q last year & nobody else was even close.

Victoriaville wasn't considered a very good team going into last season. Because of Poulin they made it to the semi-finals in the playoffs. They beat Roy's team along the way.
