So far the Xbox One and really the new platforms have done a terrible, terrible job releasing sports game so far. Madden was a joke and really seemed rushed. I don't know about NBA....But there wont be college, MLB 2k is officially over.

The only baseball game coming out is RBI baseball and who knows how that will be.

Question here is, for sport games its been a disappointment for the new systems so far. But how good is MLB the show? What makes it so great? Why was it so much better than MLB 2k? I hear a lot of raves about The Show.

I warned people here about that. The first release sports games on new systems always suck. They're always rushed and lack features. Same thing happened when the PS3 and 360 was released. You really better off waiting a year before buying sports games

Yea it is a really disappointing. Might wait to buy a system until August or so right before Madden drops.

Now there are talks that RBI might not evne come out for the XBOX or PS4 this year. What a joke. NO sport games for the next generation consoles. Nothing until Madden!??

FIFA is the only game that seems to be made well. My only beef with The Show has been you can't really play online because of the lag on pitches. As an offline game it is really fun to play though.

what makes it better than other baseball games? Recenetly ive only played 2k, don't know how a baseball game can differ that much.

R.B.I. Baseball 14 wants to be the simple, fast-paced game you remember | Polygon

As for The Show... That was the sole reason I owned a PS3. (gaming wise). Its hard to nail down why The Show is so much better than any baseball games out there.

Really wish it was on xbox as well.

I actually think that's a cool concept and they're right I'm expecting it to be less than $60. If it was $30 I would definitely get it. I bet you could get into some heated battles without lag being too much of an issue.

It might be a good game to play against your buddies, and like you said if its somewhere between 20-30$ it might eb worth it. But doesn't look like a game to play franchise mode with for single player.

Agreed. As far as The Show is concerned it's just smooth game play, you get a lot of control over the team, you need to keep track of the scouting reports to know pitcher tendencies, and stuff like that. 2K is somewhat similar but you just feel like the game is a little higher quality in most of the facets of the game. The Road To The Show is pretty cool too I'd say it's one of the best career modes for a sports game.

I decided to get a PS4 over Xbox One, so THe Show will probably be my first game I get. I played MLB 2k11 for 360 years ago and really enjoyed it. ALMOST played all 162 games, but only got 112 in before stopping and being distracted by NCAA Football.

So, I am looking at what franchsie to take and my goal is to play ALL 162+ games in a season. I also try to get the more struggling franchises, in 2k11 I took the Pirates.

This year I am looking at KC, Cleveland, Cubs, or Phillies.

Astros, Marlins, or Brewers wouldn't be bad choices either.

Fingers crossed EA brings back MVP Baseball soon enough. The Show can't hold a candle to that game.

$20 is what it costs. PS3 & 360 versions are out now...and next month PS4 & X1 versions will be available.
