Ok maybe not league but yes on the Flyers.

CSN was reporting this morning that Mesz is getting his surgery today (?? not positive if it's today or tomorrow), will rest a week, then he'll start his rehab.

Still expected to miss the full 8 weeks, but as we all know....if he's even close to 100%....he'll be begging Lavy to play.

Yep it would be nice to have Mez for the 1st rd especially since it will either be the rags or pens. Too bad they weren't locked on 6th...no way the cats are holding them to 1 goal over an entire series.

Heard some good news, that Mesarjos is way ahead of schedule, and is believed to be starting skating again this weekend. Could be back in the 1st round then.

I hear ya D, but after my back surgery the 2 docs told me that after a week, I could do anything I wanted short of sky diving to my back and nothing structurally bad would happen.

Obviously they a vested interest in saying that, but still...

I've never had any disc problems that required surgery, but have had back spasms (like Briere is having), and they do suck. They can range in intensity, but the worse ones just seize-up the whole mechanism, with pain.

Even if he's on standby for the first rd that's money because they can't go without one of mez or grossmann its painfully obvious after watching last nights debacle. Missing db hurt too as the lines were messed. Not enough punch.

ya i've had back spasms too after a soccer injury.. serious pain and it was hard to breathe when it spasmed

i dont think mine were very severe though, only lasted like a day

Too many damn injuries. It's a huge hit to our depth to be without Pronger, Meszaros, Grossmann, Briere and JvR. Briere, Meszaros and Grossmann in particular were dominating at their respective positions when they went out.

INJURY UPDATE: #Flyers GM Paul Holmgren - Meszaros is 2-4 weeks from return (back surgery); JVR is 2-3 weeks from return (foot surgery)
