Bad blood between Flyers/Habs

We will never be able to truly judge these incidents and games until they finally give us the R-rated, pay per view, all players mic'd up versions of the games.

I am withholding my judgement until I get game tape that includes every single "cock-biter", "****-bag", and "punk ass bitch" that was said during the course of the game.

Anyone remember that Rags-Devs playoff game from a few years back? There was a scrum, and the board mics picked up Rupp yelling at someone "you're a bitch! you're a bitch! you're a pussy!".

Who really knows what goes on in the Flyers locker room? Like I said, this stuff makes the game more interesting. And maybe more people will tune in next Monday.

It beats Mike Richards saying what he normally does. "You know we did some good things out there, ho hum, just couldn't get the win tonight."

Almost EVERY NHL interview sounds like this. From a Flyer fan that has watched Mike Richards for many years, this is a breath of fresh air. I don't care what he had to say - the fact of the matter is, he is showing emotion.

People harp on Sidney Crosby for the same thing all the time, but who wouldn't want that guy on their team.

Fair enough, I don't really know what Mikey says in the locker room. If he does try to reign in guys like Hartnell and Carcillo, then I'd like him even better than I did. I just doubt he does. I just wish more players respected "the code". You keep what happens on the ice, on the ice. I may be not the best person when it comes to marketing, but I just don't want the NHL turning into a trash talking, look at me sport like basketball and football. I don't even mind when players say they "hate" a certain team, just keep it plural and then go out and handle whoever it is on the ice that you don't like. Maybe I'm just more old fashioned and the league/life has passed me by.

I used to love basketball and football.....not so much anymore. I like how hockey represents itself and I like the honor and the code that is/was there. If I want to see entertaining interviews, I'll watch WWE. I may be overreacting here (which I think I probably am), point is, I think it's a slippery slope we're dealing with here.

I don't necessarily mean entertaining. One knock on Richards, especially last year, was his complacency after losses. He would sit in the locker room giving his post game interview, and frankly, it looked like he didn't care.

Like I said, I don't agree with the content - at least the Matt Cooke rant had some legitimacy :p - but it's nice to see him showing emotion.

Maybe being so close to hoisting the cup has changed his perspective on the game, because this is the second time he's been fired up during an after-loss media session. And hey, the Flyers are playing some of the best hockey in the league. So keep it up, Mike.

Same goes to PK Subban. The Has are winning...so keep on keeping on.

Meh I just think emotions ran high, i'm not a big fan of the whole you must respect your elders thing in hockey, you're out there to play, and you let your play do the talking for you. Yeah there was a lot of chirping on the ice, but that happens every time emotions are running high, I know because I was always talking shit on the ice and after it was all said and done I went to the locker room got dressed and went home. Whatever happened on the ice I left on the ice, I guess thats the only advice I would give all these chumps.

Eh, I'm pretty apathetic when it comes to post-game interviews. If they wanna talk crap, go for it, that's always dangerous (Posterboard material and whatnot), if they wanna keep it simple fine. I don't like when they get whiny about specific players though...you can hate a team and all, but don't mention specific guys...normally we can guess how you REALLY feel by your work on the ice anyway.

There was only one thing that happened on the ice that was wrong - and I mean seriously wrong. That would be Price's goaltending. That just wasn't fair. I feel like it was the sort of game the Flyers should have won based on how the play went. Our 18 guys were better than their 18 guys, but that one guy in the net was better than all 18 of our guys.

Other than that, to both teams: shut your mouths and settle it on the ice.
