The article seemed like a bunch of crap to me. First of all he starts out on a diatribe comparing himself to the journalist who exposed General McChrystal. Then the master investigative journalist writes this: "Here is a brief synopsis of what Backus is telling people about Schwartz." Notice that he quotes nothing....he is summarizing what Backus is telling (other?) people. Then he goes on to dish more rumors with no quotes, no sources, just vague BS.

The above quote sounds like the writers view of him not people inside the organization doesn't it? And look how the guy writes..."know the rules when he doesn't". Sounds like he is saying Harbaugh doesn't know the rules.

Then he accuses him of cheating on his wife. I highly doubt the Lions organization would have anything to do with finding his mistress a place to live. Isn't Jim Schwartz a millionaire? I'm sure he would handle that himself if it were true.

Then he ends the article with the Killer Kowalski reference...OK douche at your funeral they will reveal how this unsubstantiated article was true all along.

I can't believe none of you ever called this out.

:agree:

Still Shwartz has been an ass-clown and if he does not mature this year then he will most likely be gone. I mentioned in another thread that if the O-Line does not jell quickly, this year could be a disaster possibly only winning 2 or 3 games. If that happens then Shwartz is gone for sure.

Micro,

I believe he was posting regarding your spelling of dissension. I'm not quite sure why, as it is commonly misspelled that way with the 'tion' at the end.

Ok. I apologize for misspelling "dissension". Way to deflect from the actual topic, which was that Gandy said something similar to this and I remember a few posters being complete asshats about it.

Who was it that absolutely refused to believe that Gandy and Firelieu knew some of the players and had an "inside source?"

Whomever it was, I remember them being just over-the-top ridiculous about it, calling him out for something we all knew to be true...

JS rules mishap definitely cost us a game last year, but was the bad record really his fault.

8 games lost by a TD or less when the following players finished the season on the ir.
Nate Burleson
Ryan Broyles
Titus Young

Brandon Pettigrew and Scheffler missed games as well.

On a team that led the league in pass attempts. And people criticize Staff for his "down" year...makes me laugh.

Amari Speivey
Chris Greenwood
Bill Bentley
Jacob Lacey

And of course Delmas and Houston both missed time as well. On a team that was so bad against the pass, maybe because they had backups starting in 3/4's of the defensive backfield starting for most of the season.

Sammie Hill
Corey Williams
Nick Fairley

Wasn't the d-line especially the interior supposed to be the strength of this team?

Jahvid Best.

A huge part of the teams success in 2011...a huge error by MAYHEW not Schwartz thinking he would be cleared to play.

Point is it's easy to point a finger at JS but the fact is IMO that it wasn't his fault. In 2011 how many of those 10 wins were by the skin of Staffords nuts? In 2012 they lost those games. Had they not been decimated by injuries I think they win most of those games. 8 by a TD or less and 10 by 10 or less.

That's why that article is hogwash, that's why he still has his job. This is his first gig as a head coach, I like him, he just needs to learn the fuckin rules and he will be fine. Since he took over the team plays with a lot of heart, alot of intensity, and THEY NEVER FUCKING GIVE UP. That all resonates from the head coach.

BS and Kreton I believe called me a liar basically. Now that's three players from two sources that say the same. Thinking Jimmy may be in for it if they have anything short of a great season.

Who is the other player Chief? I find it ironic that Jeff Backus would bad mouth the coach that got him the only winning season and playoff appearance of his very long career.

Gos and Avril both said he was an idiot basically. It may have contributed to why they didn't have any interest in returning. The guy I was talking to had spoken to both of them earlier that day. They didn't see the Lions progressing with him at the wheel.

Gandydancer. He plays in a basketball charity tourney every year with former players and such. His post was met with a lot of dissention on this board however. :(

Firechief602 posted it. I also played in the event with him. It was scrub players or past players and such. Raised money for our county fire fighter association.

When he wrote a certain someone told him blah blah... that it was about Avril and Godser dissing on Schwartz. Some guys believed and some sent the :bullshit: calvary.

dissention is defined as "a irregular spelling for dissension":laugh3:

The article IMO, was one of the worst I have ever read and this guy, IMO, is nothing more than a hack who likes to create dissension and loves ripping on others so long as he doesnt have to do it to their faces. The lack of names behind quotes, and the truck loads of fluff and lifting himself up before ever getting to the meat of the article is amateurish at best, but the use of swear words through out the article says he has no class either. I thought it was funny that I actually thought to myself that this guy sounds like a Rome fan who decided to write a blog, and then he went and actually mentioned Rome soon after I had the thought.

Personally I dont know if any or all of it is true or not and I dont care. I dont give a crap if Schwartz spends thousands to have his pants tailored to show his sack better much less anything else (And I am a little disturbed so many agree he looks good. I have never looked). I dont care if he has a GF who is 20 or if he is cheating on his wife. That is his choice and his wife's choice if she wants to live with it or not. The fact is, the only thing that matters is his innability to coach and this article reveals nothing new about that.

I already knew he made bad clock decisions and couldnt control his emotions. I already knew he didnt lead by example. I already know he sucks as a coach. The only people who dont know it are those who are either blinded by the 10 win season (which was in spite of him and not because of him), or those who are blinded with such a desire to win they trick themselves into believing everything will be great this year! Obviously LPW is in one of these groups. lol

In the 10 win season, the Lions won games they should not have as there were several where they came from behind and won in the last minutes. This was not because JS made great adjustments. In his own admittance that year, he didnt make adjustments. He only let great players make great plays. What happened was the Lions lived and died by the big play. They often fell behind and it took a big bomb or a BEst break away to get them going again. They scored a lot of points in the fourth quarters when teams were into the prevent.

The next year defenses got smart. They took that big play away. Did JS ever figure out how to counter that? Nope! Blame the losses on injuries if you want, but its not the truth. Sure the CBs were hurt. You know what? They had bad CBs in the 10 win season and they got worse when they lost two of them in the off-season. They started the season with Houston and backups. The injuries didnt hurt near as much as some believe. So Nate and Broyles got hurt and TY lost his mind. None of them had big years the year before either. They didnt force safties to leave off CJ anyways. And when Broyles and Nate were healthy? They still werent looking good on offense. They lost Best? They didnt have him much of the time the previous year either. Best didnt give us a consistent run game. He had a few BIG PLAY runs. That was all.

What the Lions do in the coming year depends on the talent. I agree with that. But that is because they will need as much talent as possible to play as good as possible so they can have a chance to win in spite of JS coaching and the single back scheme. Because if the talent is not great? This coach gives them no chance!

I'm not saying whether or not any of it's true, but it's a hack article. He heard that Backus said these things. Word around town is that Schwartz has a little piece he parades around. This guy can suck a big fat cock writing this shit. If it's true that's to bad, but do some real fucking reporting when you write an article dipshit. If it's not true, then he needs to have his ribs stomped in.

If it is true, then he protected his source and gained respect from that source further allowing more guys to come forward and say what's on their mind without the twitter world fucking them.

Two sides to a coin in every story.

He doesn't say a source close to Backus has told me, which is still hack journalism. Because one, he is reporting on something that he has no first hand knowledge of. 2 he is outing Backus while protecting his source who is giving these indictments against Schwartz. So he isn't really protecting anyone. It is a guy that is saying that a guy that he knows told him that a guy in the know told him that Schwartz sucks.

Regardless of your feelings of Schwartz this is an extremely weak piece of journalism.

I'm not disagreeing with this. All I am saying is if his source is credible (BIG IF) and he didn't name said source. Then the story happens to be true. That hack journalist just got major cred among Lion football players and other NFL football players.

Some one is right. We have a weak coach or just a hack journalist.....Might be both.......Always fun to predict 16-0 though.........:laugh3:
