I'm actually listening to the "Over the top" soundtrack right now. Dead serious. Creepy.

Over the Top was hilarious. Cobra is an underrates Stallone movie. Can't stand Loggins. "the Touch' from transformers the movie is the quintessential 80's song to me...or the one from the Rocky IV training montage. Scarface also had some great cheesy tunes. So much to love about the 80's.

I watched Rocky 4 a few months ago. I think the entire movie was music montages. You had the beginning (end of Rocky 3), James Brown (living in America), the driving around town scene (No Easy Way Out - Another classic 80s song), the training montage and then the fight sequence.

I watched Rocky 4 a few months ago. I think the entire movie was music montages. You had the beginning (end of Rocky 3), James Brown (living in America), the driving around town scene (No Easy Way Out - Another classic 80s song), the training montage and then the fight sequence.

I love all those movies. They were so unpretentious. Even when they tried to get serious (think speech at end of Rocky IV) they were still hilarious. Plus the action was really good. Robocop, The Running Man and Total Recall managed to be both smart and awesome in an 80's action movie type of way.
