Howard was the star of the game, at least towards the end. SHEESH we came close to pissing that one away.

We just cannot keep playing this way and expect to survive. What is the basic issue here as to why these guys can't play 60 minutes? When you must expect your goaltender to steal most of the games where you get at least a point, something has to change for you to get better; and, that is certainly a first priority with this team, if they're planning to make the playoffs once again.
We have a number of things to fix, but, as I see it, if we don't fix the backend coverage, our goose is going to be cooked. Another place that needs an immediate overhaul is to get much better in the face off circle. At this point in the season, we have only 45 more wins than losses in that category, 51.18 face off win percentage. For the regulars who take the draws, Filppula is 57.74%, Datsyuk is 56.39%, Abdelkader is 52.85%, Andersson is 50.00%, Zetterberg is 49.11%, and Emmerton is 45.02%. The others combine for 49.32% (36 wins and 37 losses), where Franzen is even at 11-11, Cleary at 8-10, Eaves at 6-2 (75%), Helm at 6-8, and all the remaining players at 5-5.
If we get someone by Wednesday, I dearly hope that it is someone who is proficient in that category and/or someone that can help that pathetic power play get going in the right direction.
