Too late. Doesn't matter. BIG 12 is still at the top and that was the pt. Nobody believes the Big 12 has the best defense anyway. It was just a quirky fact from the Bowl season

Of course not. However, it does expose the narrative that people have been spouting as hyperbole at best.

To be fair the conference didn't really play good defense this year. Kansas State was the only top 25 defense in terms of efficiency. The conference did play great defense in bowl season though.

Big 12 was only favored in 1 game, so they were clearly under-rated. Results just showed the Internet hyperbole about the Big 12 was over blown, same can be said of the Big 10.

It's a combination of two things. No, the defenses are not great. That's not in question. But they're not as bad as the narrative indicates. The argument is that the stellar offenses makes them look worse than they are. I still think that's true.

6 teams in the top 20 Total Offense. It was a relief to get away from that in bowl season.

Yep. I'd be willing to bet if you ask Mikey boy Stoops who he'd rather face, he'd say Auburn instead of Texas Tech anyday. On the other hand, Lincoln would much rather face Tech than Auburn!

Eh...maybe just having a couple of off years since joining a big boy league, perhaps got a bit complacent and lost their edginess. They were much scrappier in the MountainWAC because they had to be.

I can't stand the guy but he shore kin coach. Here's hoping he never gets another solid recruiting class again!

Good question.

TCU used to hang their hat on being in position and making the tackle. You generally only beat them with superior talent.

They are still in position very often and then flat out whiff on the tackle. And not just one of 'em. Several seem to get in the same whiff-fest.

And they weren't good enough offensively this year to outscore folks. Real inconsistent IMHO.

Nah, just a bunch of new starters in place. TCU will be back in the hunt this year....
