One of the most disturbing things about our former system leads me to ask;
1. Will this system employ audibles as intricately as other more established teams do?
2. Will RGIII's ability/inability to read defenses limit Gruden's offensive system?
3. Is there sufficient trust between HC, OC and QB to allow a full display of on field command?

I don't know that anyone can answer this question right now. We do know that Gruden allowed Dalton to use audibles so its all about how Robert develops in his ability to pre read defenses. He definitely has the intelligence, just not the experience. My best guess is that he will have limited ability to audible to start off with.

not allowing a qb to audible out of a bad play limits the qb

Rg3 will need to prove he can read defenses

How about a no huddle offense when the situation calls for it? With our speed and ability to stretch defenses, we could catch teams off guard with the no huddle out of halftime etc...

Audibles as a term is too vague. There are all kinds of audibles. Change from a run to pass or vice versa, change one route, change an entire play or formation. Griffin audibled in his first year successfully so there isn't any reason he can't audible now. It is up to Gruden and McVay to create a system that Robert can be comefortable and learn in.

I expect Robert will have safe passes that include dumps to the back or TE, screens to the WR and hopefully one of the great plays in football the slant pass called audibled into based on what the defense is doing. Audibling from a pass to a run is just a matter of counting the men in the box but you have to know opponents tendencies and stunts.

So far based on the responses expectations should be tempered to match them. The question then becomes, are fans of this team willing to show enough patience to a pretty talented offense to allow for answers like:

Maybe
Probably
Probably not

When the second and third questions are related to growing pains.

I think a certain portion of the fan base will show ultimate patience when it comes to the offense. And an even more rabid portion will deflect away from the offense no matter what. I think the only units that will be subject to criticism will be the defense and special teams. And I expect the defense will be given no quarter when it comes to criticism.

we were 3-13 last season

we are putting in a new offense with new players

growing pains are going to happen

the teams improvement will fall squarely on how much the defense and ST's perform

the offense should be somewhere around top 8 if RG3 is healthy and has progressed with reads

Wow, I was thinking the exact opposite. My expectations for the offense is very high. We have great talent across the board at the skill positions. If they falter, I will be very upset. The defense is a work in progress, especially at ILB and the secondary. I expect some hiccups with that group. STs have to be better, but we may still struggle at times.
