Or not.

Pence had a couple of great pitches to hit in that AB and came up with nothing.

10 K's!!! (costly pitch count)

Huge knock on Lincecum right now. He could have a good game but pitch count kills him every time. He needs to stop going so deep in the count and go for 3 or 4 pitch outs.

I will give him this though. 94 pitches through 6 and a third is better then usual.

Live I would have called him safe also. Tough call.

And he's out! Huge play!

That Fernandez news just kills me. Favorite player in baseball, great player of course but has been one of the most respectable young guys in the league as well

What's your theory as to why so many young guys are going down with major injuries? It appears the Marlins were very, very careful with the guy and it still ended badly.

That's what is so concerning about it. Miami was picture perfect for taking things slowly with him, limiting amount of pitches and "stressful innings". Yet it still happened to him.

34 TJS since Feb. 14, it's just mind boggling. Teams (at least I believe) have tried to be more focused and conservative with their handling of young pitchers and bringing them along slowly for a few years, meanwhile TJS seems to be on the rise.

We didn't hear about it nearly as much before. Fernandez did like to use that "The Defector" pitch

I keep spinning around and different theories, maybe it's throwing motion, types of pitches or training. I would like to talk to the Giants coaches and find out how they have avoided them throughout the levels.

BTW speaking of Tommy John Surgery, a SP by the name of Jeff Hoffman is getting TJS soon. Was projected top-five pick and now expected to go between the 11-20 range, so maybe Giants can look at him (though I don't know about if they draft many P's coming off TJS).

Obviously, Noggin & Co know a lot more about things than I do. However, I'm struggling with the strategy here.

I would be fine with the move if we had a LF besides Morse that can hit. Tyler Colvin and his .724 OPS with 1 SB in Fresno doesn't excite me. Hope he proves me wrong.

Six weeks is a long time, probably close to 40 games. Would have preferred giving Duvall a shot at 3B and move Panda to 1B, and leave the OF alone. I understand that uses one of Duvall's options, but we are talking about 6 critical weeks. Maybe the FO doesn't want Panda to look too valuable pre-contract negotiations. Or bring up Susac and move Posey to 1B.

Any questions, see my first line of this.

Does a homer and a triple excite you?
