Resign Ngata?

I was thinking through scenarios were he would possibly be beneficial. Lions drafted a Bosa or another top DE. Could he help another year or be instrumental in the development of Gabe or Reid?

I'm getting so tired of nothing but cot damn Suh talk. Just drumming up other shit besides him.

You don't want Ngata, cool. Try and think outside the box on what you'd do.

I could do about 2-3 million at the most. He might get some team to give him $5 million or more. Just don't want it to be the new GM.

Saw Smitty be sarcastic with a comp pick earlier. Never happen even if he got a one year 8-10 million contract. Lions will spend too much IMO this off season to warrant anything in that department. Not enough talent leaving to balance out the spending.

Depends on who next GM/H-Coach is first, then the DC, but take that away for the moment, I could see re-signing him as being beneficial.

1. He could provide leadership to the Def/DL for 1-2 yr.
2. correcto-mundo on helping to develop Reid, Wright AND Adolphus Washington ;)
3. tbh, he's worthy of a contract up to a max of 4M, imo solely, but no mas (see pot-roast $$$)

Blue... I can take either Buckeye for the front four and be content.

sorry man but I just see the "win the Bosa sweepstakes" slipping away. I'd love have to Bosa to pair with Ansah and quite frankly there isn't another collegiate DE that projects as well as he does, imho.

I'm a CB guy, 1st and foremost, so Lamar is my favorite player in the draft from a defensive side but there would be a much greater risk taking him should he be available. I highly doubt he will be unless we lose all the rest of games)

DT is easiest defensive position to transition to the NFL coming from college ranks, imo.

Bosa and Ansah together would wreak havoc on QB's for years to come.

I wouldn't go crazy trying to bring Ngata back. He has looked much better, as has the defense, as he has become healthy. At his age though -- you never know when the bottom will fall out.

If we could get him to sign a 1 or 2 year deal. I'd be fine with bringing him back, just to mentor other players on the DL -- if the price is right. If they could get him to sign for 3-4 million -- I'd be fine with that.

I would target a DT in one of the first few rounds depending on how the draft plays out. It is looking more and more like the Lions will draft in the 10-15 range, so if our new GM goes the BPA route -- it may not be a DT.

I can say -- I wouldn't be upset to see Hargreaves fall to us. He isn't the tall CB many teams like, but he has the same kind of build as Revis and would make a tremendous pair with Darius Slay.

If the Lions were to go the DE route in the 1st round -- Two guys I wouldn't be upset about them drafting is Shaq Lawson or the guy from Oklahoma State -- Okbah? (sp).

I think Lawson would be a better fit if Austin is still our DC, as like Ansah, he is very good against the run. Okbah probably has a higher ceiling, but I think both would be pair nicely with Ansah.

Not a big Ngata fan. If we were in a 3-4 then that would be a different story. In a 4-3 he is a 2 to 4 mil a year 1 to 3 years tops. He is just too slow for my liking in the 4-3

Under $2 Million, the cost alone to feed him may match his salary...

The reason I'd be fine with a the year 18 million dollar contract is that we need a d tackle. Someone is Getting that money and a lot of shit players are getting 5 million plus a year now.

Supposed to be three years averaging six a year. That's not my ideal situation, but thats the highest it could go before I'd be pissed. So if it's 3 years for 18.5 I'm raising hell.

2-4. He has more in the tank than I thought. No more than that because of his age.
