IMO we have two back ups. We need a genuine starter.

TEX catching in 2015 is a simple utility with co-starters. Their least significant value to winning games is their offense. But if you valuing catchers offensively by their OPS -- Chirinos is performing better over the season and trending up over that the last two weeks. Overall -- think he is the better catcher.

Chirinos last year had the #12 OPS for AL catchers w/.705 OPS. In 2015 his .696 season OPS is close season to season; however, his .835 OPS over the last 14 days is trending up 130 points over his season numbers. A .835 season OPS would put him at #5 in the AL offensively.

Corporan is going the other way. Last year he had the #19 OPS for AL catchers w/.678OPS not that different than Chirinos in 2014. But in 2015 his .631 OPS is down from last season and over the past 14 days is trending further down with a .451 OPS.
