I thought the same thing and then saw an article said that an extension would be difficult since he isn't a free agent until 2025. I don't see it being difficult at all. Buy his arb years out because of what you said plus he deserves it. At 27 not sure what numbers would look like but I say 5 year at $75M? High? Low?This kind of goes against my Jerry making moves but, you think it’s time they try to work on an extension for him? His arb numbers are going to sky rocket anyway.
Is he still healing and some of that should get better? I thought he was just taking things super careful at first. I hope I'm right but I barely listen to the broadcast team so I don't really know.No ball jumps off a bat harder than Kyle Lewis' bat. If he is our DH for the next 5 years, I am fine with that, Still pains me to watch him run knowing what a great athlete he was and now runs gingerly, but I will take just his bat if that is all he has to offer.
It pisses me the fuck right off. It takes a month of the worst baseball in the league before you do something about it? Where was that speech and these adjustments 3 weeks ago?Okay, what the hell was said in the locker room when they hit the basement?
Pitching does a 180 and suddenly can hold leads? Against HOUSTON?!!
I can understand the bats being PO'd and ready to go, but that still doesn't explain THIS.
Mind blown, anyone?
Funny because I have been asking myself that same question. Is he just healthy enough to play or is this the best he is going to get with his legs? It scares me to watch him run. I want tis kid to have a long career. He deserves it for everything he has gone through. Let me know if you read anything about it.Is he still healing and some of that should get better? I thought he was just taking things super careful at first. I hope I'm right but I barely listen to the broadcast team so I don't really know.
I'm sure if the Mariners had landed Pena he'd somehow be hitting less than his weight.Watching that Pena kid play is fun so I looked up his ranking at the team over the years. In 2019 he was ranked 29th for the Astros farm and Toro was ranked 23rd. He ended up 4th last year. That would have been a nice get but Astros are smarter than that.
My family laughs at that every time. I'm 240 and he is way bigger than me.Lol @ Mike Ford being listed at 225lbs. He's a few big macs away from fitting into Daniel Vogelbach's old uniform.
Speaking of Vogelbach, how ironic is it that he has a better OPS than half our lineup?
Anyone who doesn't know how we banter about this team probably thinks we're the most toxic, negative group of people on the internet lol.
I never thought much of him last year with Cincy so I have no clue other than M's having the Cirillo disease associated with them. You used to be able to blame changing leagues, but that has changed with player movement and umps working both leagues.Anyone have any theories as to why Winker has regressed so much? I think I probably asked this in another thread, so feel free to repeat yourself if you responded.
The drop off is so substantial I can't really think of any explanation. When you look at Winker's career numbers, he's not just having a career worst season in every category but an insanely awful drop off for him.
Career worst BA: .255
2022: .214
Career worst OBP: .357
2022: .313
Career worst SLG%: .431
2022: .292
It has been all kinds of awful from him this year which is incredibly frustrating.
I keep forgetting he's even on this team and every time he's up to bat I literally ask myself "Who the fuck is this guy?"My family laughs at that every time. I'm 240 and he is way bigger than me.
It really just confuses the hell out of me.I never thought much of him last year with Cincy so I have no clue other than M's having the Cirillo disease associated with them. You used to be able to blame changing leagues, but that has changed with player movement and umps working both leagues.
