M's have more wins against the Astros in this series than they did in all of 2019

Play of the game for me was in the dugout after Murphy scored from 1B on the Haniger double in the 7th and he was fired up throwing f-bombs and whatever else getting the team fired up. Those kind of guys are worth their weight in gold in my eyes. If you can't play with passion, why play?

Great series. Only loss was a close and winnable game.

To me I would like M's to start signing some guys to 4 year deals/extensions like Haniger & France. Maybe 2 year extension for Seager and maybe a 2 year with 3rd year team option for Moore to give him some security and help him relax. Pitchers scare me so I would wait on those dudes. I truly believe security makes players play better and these guys have earned it. None are break the bank type deals so it works for both sides.

Another high energy celebration with JP.

It's great to win a series against the Stros.....but, let's face it, 1/2 their team was MIA. A good ego boost for the M's but when they have a full team it's gonna be a different story I think. Hope I'm wrong.....it's the Mariners though, so I think I'm OK with what with my hunch. 3 games at the Bos Sox, then 2 at the Stros and then we have 2 with the Angels at home. That should give a good idea how this team deals with solid teams...... BoSox and Angels. France is killing it and Mitch is right there too. Regardless, it's just flat out fun to see these young dudes making their statements. Can't wait for Lewis, hopefull in Boston on Tuesday. Seager- rough day today. Hope NWinAZ and I didn't jinx Seager. :pound:

Ya no kidding. I also gave props to Moore right before he started tanking so maybe it is time to get back to my negative Mariners attitude. Of course I can't fix you. You are on your own...lol.

unclear exactly where Marte’s defensive home will be, he’s answered many questions with his commitment to his throwing program, syncing up his lower half and his arm action. He made a lot of errors early in his debut, then cleaned things up and was very sharp at the end. He could end up at third base when all is said and done, but that’s an improvement for a player who some doubted would be able to stay on the dirt at all. Even if he had to move to the outfield, his bat is going to play, with some seeing similar offensive traits as Hanley Ramirez at this age.

LOL...Doesn't take much at all for me to get back to a neg attitude. I'm taking a wild ass guess right now that you already know I have a very well developed negative attitude after upwards of some 20 years of practice. (this forum and the old cbs forum) :trash: :pound:

What an impressive series against the Stros.... the pitching on the last 2 games were absolutely insane. Can’t really fault the 1-0 loss because it’s Greinke but today’s game was the best of the 3 IMO. 6 combined pitchers for a 1-hitter was very impressive.

I just hope Haniger don’t get injured being fired up and throwing fbombs... because you know.... it’s Haniger.

) Beating the Astros
Houston was down its MVP (Jose Altuve), its MVP runner-up (Alex Bregman) and its unanimous Rookie of the Year (Yordan Alvarez) this weekend due to COVID issues. But taking two of three from the perennial division powerhouse still carried some weight. At the very least, the strong fan reaction throughout the weekend indicated as much.

Entering this series, the Astros had won 25 of the past 29 meetings between the two clubs dating back to the start of 2019. And including the final meeting between these two last September, Seattle has now taken two straight series against its division rivals for the first time since 2015.
baltimore
and
houston

“It's huge,” Haniger said. “A series went against anybody is what you want, but definitely over the Astros -- perennial team in our division. Usually every year, they finish first or second it seems like every year. So, it's big, and going out there taking two or three of them at home, it sets the tone.”
