According to Packer Report, Washington TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins clocked a 4.56 forty-yard dash during a Friday workout with the Jets.
We're always wary of misinformation this time of year, but Packer Report's source is ex-NFL scout Dave-Te' Thomas, who has a solid reputation as far as we can tell. Seferian-Jenkins weighed in at 6-foot-6, 271, making the 4.56 mind blowing even if you account for a potentially "fast track." ASJ added a ridiculous 37 1/2-inch vertical, per the report. The 2013 Mackey Award winner did not test at the Combine due to foot surgery to repair a stress fracture. We expect Seferian-Jenkins to be a second-round draft pick.

You still think its a Jerry Jones pick Shark??

Yep... because honestly how many balls go to the second pass catching TE?? I get it dean, for what ever reason you dont like Benjamin. Almost seems like you are in that any one but this guy mentality. But seriously I dont think another TE needs to be that high on the radar because in reality he will be the 3rd TE since Paulsen isnt going any where. And unless he is the next Gronk ho can block AND catch, he is no more than a #3 TE on this team.

With that workout ASJ can block and catch. 6-6 271 and a 4.56. Just think about that for a minute Shark. Gruden did it with Gresham and The ND TE. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he took ASJ. That is an insane workout for a guy that size.

Seferian-Jenkins totaled 41 receptions for 538 yards and six touchdowns in 2011. He should produce more in 2013 with quarterback Keith Price maturing. Seferian-Jenkins is a special athlete who also played basketball for Washington. He has a rare combination of size, speed and athleticism. Assuming Seferian-Jenkins maintains his level of play, he will be the top tight end prospect to enter the NFL since the super 2010 crop of Gronkowski, Graham and Aaron Hernandez

I got that from walterfootbal.com. they wrote that before the 2013 season.

Looking at his scouting reports, his blocking ability is a big red flag to me. And if he cant block, with reed already in place he is no more than a 3rd TE because even when we go two TE sets, one is likely to be a blocking TE,

well how many balls are going to the 4th wr ?

Considering that we rotate WRs more than TE, I would say its a fair bet a 6'5 WR would get more targets than the 3rd TE.

the nfl one said he could be an inline blocker. The Packers are showing interest in the late 1st. walterfootball said he can be buts its not his strength.

Again dude, Paulsen isnt going any place. So how does a 3rd TE rank higher than a 4th Wr when we rotate WRs alot more than TEs to begin with?? You can run a 4 WR set from almost any place on the field. How often do we run a 3 TE set except on the goal line?? And even when we run a 2 TE set, he wont be on the field unless reed is out of the game because the second TE is usually a blocker period. Not a sort of blocker, but a blocker.

Dude Im just going off his scouting reports which say

He

Cant

Block.

Exactly. He is a big big WR. If he could block, he would be ahead if Ebron and Top 10 Consideration. Haven't heard McShay or Kiper say much at all about him in the last month in the podcast. They raved more about "ankle bracelet" Lyerla.

if we took a TE at 34 he would not be the 3rd TE personally i wouldnt take one at 34

If we took a TE at 34 he better be able to block. Otherwise its a jerry jones pick plain and simple. And Amaro and ASJ have both been labeled pass catchers... aka I cant block types.

Lindy's says he improved as a blocker last season at 271 lbs i dont believe his blocking is an issue

Is he going to be a guy that you can flex out wide?? I think a 6'5 WR gives us more versatility than the Te position. I think Benjamin is a better over all pick. And IF he is there at 34, I think the Skins have a very hard time passing him up.
