as of right now this is how i would play my secondary

FS breeland
SS johnson
cb amerson
cb culliver
slot porter /hall

its a gamble with amerson but i think right now breeland is our best fit at FS as far as coverage and tackling . he is also a leader

Nacho might end up in the mix as well.

I would see hall moving to FS and Amerson in the slot. Breeland is back at CB.

But I think our secondary isn't complete yet. We will still pick up a S in the draft that may have an impact on this roster.

keep breeland at corner, we dont need to fuck with his development just because we have a hole at safety. amerson stays at corner for now too.

I agree, keep Breeland at corner. I wouldn't object moving Amerson to safety tho.

Experiment with Hall at FS, but you keep both young cbs at cornerback, and draft a safety in the second or third round if you must.

In the Jay interview, I found it interesting that he said the optimum would be Safeties that could interchange from Free to Strong depending on matchups. He explained that's one of the things they liked about Johnson. He'd done both.

I'm really excited at the improvements we made with the back 4. Say what you want about the OL the secondary was by far the weakest unit on the team. It was a joke how often they left people completely uncovered all year. People are sleeping a bit on just how important Culliver's signing was. He was the best corner on a very good SF defense. I haven't given up on Amerson but putting him back as the starter was just not going to happen.

As for the safety position I agree it's crazy to move Breeland. For the first time in forever we have 2 solid young corners, you don't mass with that.

many many pro scouts feel breelands best position is free safety do to his speed however i can see most of your points

to me hall is too small to be a safety and with his injury a serious question to come back and amerson hasnt shown the tackling ability to play safety hence i look to breeland

look we have a draft and the position can be addressed and nacho could win the job
