Is it wrong to hope for expansion just so brown gets drafted

That would be the best option. I did read the expansion talk has died down over other things, but it is still a very real possibility. If they had an Expansion Draft, I have no doubt Brown would be left exposed. Contract is gone, no assets moved, clean break from his tenure and the beginning of a new regime with new leadership. I believe if he were to be moved, one of Kopitar or Doughty takes over that C.

That article is spot on too. That shift by Brown against the BJs was spectacular to watch and reminded me of the Brown of old. The problem is 2 other guys were off the ice from the BJs, which allowed him to do what he did. If I recall as well, one of his two goals this season was a PS, which means 5 other guys were off the ice from the opposing team. My point: he has difficulty doing much offensive stuff unless it is a unique situation like that. He won't dominate a shift like he did during the course of regular/ES hockey, he isn't that player anymore.

He does the grinding and possession stuff well, but that isn't worth $5.875 million nor the duration of the contract left. Actively. Shop. Him. NOW.
