Are you happy seeing the Lions get obliterated by Green Bay last year with the NFC North on the line? Are you happy knowing 2nd place in the North is the Lions current ceiling?

There are about 3 teams in the NFL who's ceiling would not be 2nd best in the division that the Packers played in. The result it the same for all teams that are not the Seahawks in the NFC West.

The past is in the past. I am happy with the growth and direction of the team. I think they slide back to 8-9 games this year without Suh, but with another solid off season can build a long time contender. Outside of the backfield the Lions have at least 1 elite talent at every level.

I will say, for some strange reason the Bills game from last year haunts me. I'm not a big Mayhew fan. Prolly kick Freese and Henry square in the balls just because. I also realize just because Mayhew is replaced, does not mean the new guy will do better. Like the direction they seem headed. Just wish Mayhew found this path sooner.

One point or twenty is still a loss. People say their team lost by five points or less in so many games last year. Do you know how many teams can say that from year to year? That is not a sign of success. Not saying that is what you're implying, I don't judge by how many close games they have as a indicator for what direction their headed

I like where your head is at, but I'm not sold yet. Barry, Calvin, Suh. Those are elite players IMO.

I'm driving home jamming to blind melon, going to spend a week with my wife. That makes me happy. Matt Stafford overthrowning somebody, Ebron dropping a pass or the Lions being three and 23 doesn't make me happy or unhappy.

Most people avoid unhappy situations. So since I keep coming back, chalk me up as a pig in shit Lions fan.

I think it depends on how you view elite I guess, I don't consider them all time elite, but if you are top5-10 at your position I think you are elite. I could not put up much of an argument is you moved Ansah to the potential section this year.

I think you are probably right though, maybe elite is the wrong word. Most of those players are not people that you change your game plan for, they just consistently make very good plays.

If you look at it as game plan changing I still think you still include Quinn. Slay and Ansah are the most likely to crack that list next though. Warford never will, you never game plan for a guard that I know of, but he still dominates.
