apparently retardo the troll doesn't get what i'm actually saying, but then Turnip's not the brightest passenger on the SHORT bus...

Your initial comment said that Heat fans were looking for the easy way out, correct?

Every team and fan base wants the easiest path, because in the end, there is NO easy path.

It is the same reason that you guys last year wanted to play S.A. vs Ok City, correct? You felt you matched up better.
Nothing wrong with that thinking. It is actually the smart way to look at it.

From this post on, I am going to give it my best shot to not enter childish spats with you.

If you want to choose to act like an adult, feel free.

I think the Pacers have overtaken the Heat as the best team in the East. A very good starting 5, and now, a very solid bench.

so what you're saying is just because the playoffs come up the team you back should have an easier time of it because the regular season is their "reward"? seems to me that's what you're saying...

sorry, but imo it simply goes back to what i said. to be the best you gotta BEAT the best. hoping for an easy path back doesn't show that...

In the playoffs though, chances are that you will still have to beat the best at some point!! In the regular season, you have beaten enough teams to land a #1 or #2 seed!! This gives you the opportunity to maybe face a lesser opponent in the first round or 2. However, if things play out the way that they are designed (barring upsets) then you still have to beat a #1 or #2 seed to get to the finals. Then, when you get to the finals, you have to beat the champion from the other conference.

I get what you're saying about beating the best, but it is generally safe to assume that if you win the championship, at some point along the way, you had to beat the best that your conference and/or the other conference has to offer.

sure. the point was that there are fans who were wishing for "the easy way out", though. which to me says you DON'T want to face "the best". that was all i was saying...:suds:

not sure how you came to THIS thought...

You want your team to go through the ringer because you think other people will question it less? It would seem if you truly enjoyed your team and liked them you would want them to enjoy their better seed and ignore what others are saying about them.

I think your other account has proven that some where someplace and then some how will find a way to detract from what some one else has done in hopes to make them feel less shitty about their own life.

At first I was like THANK YOU SOME ONE AGREES WITH ME!!! Then I was like...oh :D :suds:

 I think there is a little bit of misunderstanding both ways. I think all fans want the most favorable matchups. Nothing wrong with that and it is what playoff seeding is all about. Lakers fans were hoping for the 7 seed this past season because the Spurs, with their style of play, were a more favorable matchup than OKC with theirs.

Heat fans were hoping for the #1 seed because if put off facing the Bulls and/or Pacers to the later rounds!!

By the same token, I'm sure that most Heat fans would want to have played the Bulls with Rose in the lineup and the Pacers with Granger in the lineup because, as CL points out, they would be playing and beating the best!!

Please quit putting words in his mouth.
THAT is not what he said or implied.

The original comment stated correctly that Heat fans would prefer the Pacers meet the Bulls so the Heat doesn't have to face them both like last season.

It had nothing to do with injuries.

Like someone else said above. Pacers basically traded Hansbrough, Plumlee, and Green for Scola, Granger, Solomon Hill, and CJ Watson. Also mentioned was Orlando Johnson, who is a combo guard, more of a 2 but very similar to Lance Stephenson. The one thing the Pacers are somewhat lacking is a true PG, because Hill isn't a true PG, but they can make it work fine because of their defense and the ability of George/Stephenson to bring the ball up court.

If Hibbert is the same Hibbert we seen in the playoffs and not the first 40 games of the season, I could see the Pacers being the 1 seed. Even former D-MVP Chandler got abused by him, not to mention Andersen/Bosh. His improvement, along with George's improvement, then you add Granger to the mix with a very solid bench, and the Pacers could dominate the league.

The scary thing with the Pacers is that their offense just got a whole lot better while the defense didn't really suffer too much. If they start putting up 100+ ppg, this team will be a nightmare to play against with the level of intensity their defense plays with.

:agree: While the Heat are the defending champs, with the moves that the Pacers have made, the better question may be Are the Heat the favorites behind the Pacers?

Like I pointed out earlier, as much as people are jumping on the Pacers bandwagon, Vegas still has them as the 4th choice in the East.

ALOT will happen between now and May/June.

Oden should announce this week and IF he chooses the Heat and IF he stays healthy, he can pretty match up with any centers in the league.

I could easily see him used in the same type of roll as Birdman IF all of the above happens.

Seems like an awful lot of "if's" to me!! Even if Indiana had stayed exactly the same and simply added a healthy Granger, it could very well change the balance of power in the East. They have done a good bit more than that!!

It seems that the Heat's chances for a three-peat is based on alot of the HOPE that you like to talk about Lakers fans having!!

nice try, but i enjoy my team because i simply enjoy my team. as far as the other thing goes, just look at the aguments/debates/pure trash these boards produce for the rest....

I think your other account has proven that some where someplace and then some how will find a way to detract from what some one else has done in hopes to make them feel less shitty about their own life.

well, that's YOUR reach. guess you're simply going to interpret it however you like...

maybe you should simply read things at face value...

If you say so, but today, as is, the Heat are even money and the Pacers are 8-1 4th favorites.

I'll take my chances with those odds and the Heats roster any day if the week.

This is still July though. The talk of anything that far down the road is pretty pointless.

Hibbert has emerged, George is emerging and Granger is coming back. I've predicted this team to beat the Heat for like 2-3 years now, this feels like the year!! Lol.
