I'm glad that we've remained pretty silent during FA and are no longer (mocked as) off-season champs. But someone had to grasp that mantle and one of the leaders in the clubhouse so far are the Giants. Aside from re-signing JPP, they've inked Janoris Jenkins (5 yr, $62.5M, $30M in guaranteed cash), Damon Harrison (5 yr, $46.5M, $24M in guarantees, $30M in first three years, all of which was a lot more than he was expecting), and Olivier Vernon (5 yr, $85M, $52.5M in guarantees). And they may not be done yet. I know their defense was horrid last year, but how many times has all this Cerrato-like spending done anyone any good?

Totals for all three contracts: 15 yrs, $194M, $106.5M in guaranteed dough.

Eli has 3-5 years to win another Super Bowl and out do his big brother... So the Giants are going to do what ever it takes to give him the chance.

Its hard to fuck up the salary cap with the new rules... But NY is giving it the old college try any way. :D
