I doubt that, people are lazy.

I'm sure Tennessee is a better team than showed today, but they got hyped up because they had a front loaded schedule last year. Pretty much same thing this year, so no matter what they do this year, they will have a strong finish and they will get hyped up again next year.

This game will probably be a good motivator for them as well.

It's a far stretch from the Dooley years, but it's not top10 just yet.

I think the Vols actually made progress tonight, as crazy as that sounds.... yes, it was just Appy State, but they trailed the entire game, fought back and won in overtime. Quite opposite of what we saw from last year's team.

We almost lost to McNeese St. one year and still ended up with 9 wins. And a fired coach albeit.

Took Ameer Abdullah late to seal the deal with a ridiculous run. I was in row 3 and all the rich fucks around me were all ho hum about what was going on and I'm thinking to myself "this would be the most embarrassing loss in Nebraska football history".

Yeah. The first games are usually pretty tough to gauge. Hell, we were in a dog fight with fucking UTEP one year as a opener. They'll definitely get better. Last year's team just didn't know how to close.

They won on a play that would have been ruled down before the goal line in the NFL (you can't recover a fumble for a TD). That would have forced a 4th down an the decision to go for it or kick the field goal. I dne could on't see how anyone could look at that game and be impressed with anything Tenn did.

And yes, Michigan lost to App State. We also only won 8 games that year.

My take aways from the game

App State is not very good.
No passing game.
No kicking game.
Stop their run and App State is toast.
Good run defense, bad pass defense.

Luckily, they are in the Sunbelt, so they could have a winning record. If they go to a bowl game against a semi-decent team, I am betting on the semi decent team.

Bad rush defense. When it was obvious all App State could do was run, they still were able to get first downs.
Pass defense is unknown as App State cannot throw the ball.

Should have thrown the ball on the bad App State pass defense, but it looks like they are not confident in their passing game
Luckily, they play in the SEC East. Will go to a bowl game, and they had better hope they don't draw someone good.
