But I believe number of losses being equal, then head to head should always be the tie breaker.. And I am an ND fan. But we all view these things differently.

It was the last game played, thus fair game. I suppose you think we should be speaking about the unknown future and never speaking of the game again? What a lame way to live life. Victories should be cherished.

Mullen overrated? Maybe. One thing for sure is that he's better than the last couple we had. I like the direction we are headed.

I really hope we don't get into "running up the score", which is where this reasoning logically leads.

As a side bar to running up the score, there is always the team that is losing by 31 and kicks a field goal from the 2 yard line with 5 seconds left to avoid a shutout. Go for the touchdown and accept the shutout.

Why is Cincinnati too low? Their best win is eeking out a 3 point win at home over a UCF team that does not look good right now and they lost to Ohio State 42 to 0. I think 21 is about right.

They beat the highest ranked one loss team in the country. I’d personally go Florida 8, UGA 9, and Notre Dame 10 just barely ahead of Auburn, mostly because Nix is not very good. If anything UGA should be a spot higher than they are.

The Gator bashing is interesting to me. They handled Auburn, won their NY6 game by nearly four touchdowns last year, and are currently ranked in the top 10. Most teams would kill to be in their shoes. They’re in a much better place under Mullen than they were before he got there.

Should any 2-loss team be ranked in Top 20? Should 3 be in Top 25?

Texas lost to two Top 5 teams, but their biggest win is against Louisiana Tech, who received 1 vote.

Iowa lost to Michigan and Penn State, but their biggest win is against unranked Iowa State

Washington lost to unranked Cal and Stanford with no wins vs Top 25.

It is still a beauty pageant at this point. If you haven't been beautiful with any consistency over the last several years you struggle. See Baylor and Minnesota. From the kids table I say this with a little trepidation. On a smaller scale Boise State benefits as a darling in a way that I'm sure pisses off a lot of G5 team fans, both preseason and post.
