Just like what one single argument can Alabama make that they are number 1 over Clemson that has to do with this year?

Hmmm...9 returning starters on offense including qb, 3 deep at RB and WR... vs losing Deshaun Foster, Mike Williams and Wayne Gallman. Similar rebuilds on defense. Seems like a good reason to start out #5.

Agreed. Who wants to be #1? It's all settled on the field eventually. My only goal is for Clemson to keep winning. I'd love for things to end up like they are right now. I want the three-peat championship. The last two have been two of the greatest national championship games ever, and I think this one would be good too. I don't know if we can beat Bama right now, since you have to attack them deep and Bryant is too inconsistent right now to do that. But we have to settle this whole 1-1 tie thing.

I did not know that. My reaction was more of a lack of respect for the Big 12 by the AP. I think the Frogs are a solid team this year.

The Big 12 doesn't have a big fat ass TV contract with ESPN, Fox and CBS (other than the LHN) so they aren't going to see much love. Same goes for the PAC.

A Pac12 team with 3 losses managed to finish #3 in the country last year in the AP and started out #4 this year - and struggled against Texas and lost to Wazzu and you want to talk about bias against the Pac?

Well, let me clue you in...not that it will likely matter.

AP voters comes from across the country. There are 60 total, and each state gets voters based on the number of FBS teams in the state. California and Texas for example get the most voters because they have the most teams. A state like Missouri may only get 1 voter and a state like Montana would get 0.

Each state selects it's members differently, but they are all members of the AP, and often times include smaller time writers and such. Maybe the occasional broadcaster.

So basically, you are claiming that the majority of the country is biased against their own areas.

And when it comes to the coaches poll, hell that means that the coaches themselves are biased against themselves.

Of course, you are just making excuses rather than dealing with reality, but maybe you need to find better excuses.

While the AP matters not. The late games are almost impossible to watch. Plus 99% of east coasters don't pay extra for Pac 12 Network.

Sucks, but the committee is what matters and as long as UW keeps winning, they will make the playoffs.
